The origins of the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) are rooted in the Indian Cancer Research Centre (ICRC), which was established in 1952 in Parel, Mumbai, under the purview of the Ministry of Health, Government of India. In 1966, ICRC was renamed the Cancer Research Institute (CRI) and amalgamated with the Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH), creating the first comprehensive cancer centre in India - the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), an autonomous grant-in-aid institution of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India.

Educational Qualification :
Essential / Mandatory : Ph.D/MD/MS/MDS or equivalent degree or having 3 years of research, teaching, design and development experience after MVSC/M.Pharm/ME/M.Tech with at least one research paper in Science Citation Index (SCI) journal. Candidates with equivalent qualification in AYUSH sciences may also apply.
Work Experience :
Desirable / Preferable: Experience in drug discovery & development, in vitro & in vivo models is desirable. It is also preferred if candidates have experience in techniques including but not limited to flow cytometry, qPCR, Western blot, cytotoxicity assays, Animal Cell culture handling, and confocal microscopy.
Job Responsibilities : The candidate will lead the discovery and development of herbal drugs for cancer through design and conduct of experiments, troubleshooting, monitoring and facilitation of the project work (preclinical and clinical), conducting regular team meetings, preparation of progress reports and any other work assigned by the Principal Investigator. The selected candidate will also be responsible for managing the inventory of project requirements, in addition to managing and supervising the functioning of junior project staff. He/She will be the liaison and the primary point of contact for all project related activities and coordination with various departments.
Consolidated Salary : Rs. 58,280/- per month.
Duration : Six Months and extendable.
The work progress of candidates will be monitored and extension after 6 months will depend on satisfactory progress of the work.
