Dr. Reddy’s Institute of Life Sciences (DRILS), Hyderabad has created DRILS Fellowship Program for Innovation in Integrated Disciplines of Chemistry and Biology, to identify and foster exceptional scientists to pursue innovation in areas of significant pharmaceutical interest.
This is an Initiative designed for development of talent pool for emerging R&D needs of Pharma / Life Science industries.
The Institute invites applications from qualified young scientists for multiple positions in Process Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry and Disease Biology:
DRILS Post Doctoral Fellowship: Motivated Ph.D level scientists from reputed research institutions with/without prior post-doctoral experience are invited to apply for the two year fellowship program to pursue research in areas of organic synthesis / biology with relevance to pharmaceutical field.
Details & Eligibility:
• DRILS Post-doctoral fellowship is a full-time, contractual, postdoctoral position for qualified young scientists to carry out in-house research at DRILS. The duration is for 2 years, extendable up to one more year on the basis of performance. The Fellowship does not imply any commitment regarding any other position at DRILS.
• Educational Qualification: Ph.D. degree in Biology (any subject of Life Sciences) / Chemistry (preferably Organic Synthesis or Medicinal Chemistry) from reputed institutions. Those who are in the final stages of their Ph.D thesis submission are also eligible to apply. (If selected, the candidate must have submitted the thesis at the time of joining DRILS.)
• Preferred candidate profile: Desire to work in interdisciplinary research projects, preferably industry-driven research; ability to apply specific knowledge in other areas of research; understanding of the relevance of research in the Pharma and Life Sciences industries; At least one peer-reviewed publication or other evidence of original scholarly achievement. Aptitude for supervising/mentoring Master’s level researchers is desirable. Excellent communication skills.
• Biology Profile: Comprehensive knowledge of modern biology and detailed understanding in their specific area of specialization; keen interest in working on industry-driven research; willingness to work on disease biology and therapeutics.
• Chemistry Profile: Comprehensive knowledge of modern organic synthesis, medicinal chemistry or process chemistry R&D; proficient in scouting and designing synthesis routes; keen interest in multi-step organic synthesis; process chemistry development; willingness to work on synthesis of focused libraries and molecules of medicinal chemistry interest.
• Fellowship: INR 40,000/- to 50,000/- per month
