The following posts are to be filled up on a contractual basis for State level Virus Research & Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL), a project entitled Setting up of Nationwide network of laboratories for managing Epidemics and Natural calamities in the Department of Microbiology, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh

Essential Qualification : (1) First class M.Sc. / M.Sc. MLT in Virology / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Parasitology / Biochemistry / Life Sciences/M.Tech Biotechnology / M.Pharma from a recognized university/institute with 4 years of experience in R&D / Teaching experience in relevant subjects after post-graduate degree.
OR
(2) Second class M.Sc. / M.Sc. MLT in Virology / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Parasitology / Biochemistry / M.Tech Biotechnology / Life Sciences / M.Pharma + Ph.D. from a recognized University/Institute.
Desirable Qualification
(1) Doctorate in Virology / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Parasitology / Immunology / M.Pharma from recognized universities/ institutes.
(2) Additional research/training experience in Virology/Microbiology/Biotechnology/Biochemistry Parasitology/ Immunology.
(3) Knowledge of Bioinformatics, computer applications tools/data management.
(4) A person having experience in a virology lab will be preferred.
Age Limit : The age limit is up to 45 years.
Remunerations per month : As per DHR guidelines.

Note
1. A Ph.D. degree will be considered as three years of experience.
2. Age relaxation for women /OBC (Non-creamy)/SC/ST candidates will be considered as per GOI rules.

Terms & Conditions
1. It is the candidate's responsibility to ascertain and ensure their eligibility as per the prescribed qualifications and experience. If any declaration given or information furnished by him/her proves false or if he/she is found to have willfully suppressed any material or information, he/she will be liable for removal from service and such other action as deemed necessary. Even after qualifying in the selection process, the candidate may be rendered disqualified at the time of document verification if he/she does not fulfil essential eligibility criteria.
2. Tenure : The assignments are purely on a contract basis from 31st March 2026. The appointments will not vest any right to claim by the candidate for regular appointment or permanent absorption in IMS, BHU, Varanasi /DHR or continued contractual appointment.
3. Expiry of Contract: The contract will automatically expire on completion up to 31-03-2026 or earlier in case of withdrawal of support by the funding agency. The contractual appointment can be terminated at any timeby either side by giving 30 day's notice or salary in lieu thereof.
4. Leave: The leave entitlement of the appointee shall be governed by the leave policy of the funding agency as amended from time to time.
5. Accommodation: The institute will provide no hostel or any other accommodation.
6. Canvassing of any kind will lead to disqualification.
7. The prescribed qualification is minimum and merely possessing the same does not entitle any candidate for selection.
8. He/She may have to work shifts that can be posted at any place in the institute, including field visits. In emergency situations, staff may be put on night duty as well.
9. He/She is expected to conform to the rules of conduct and discipline applicable to the institute employees.
10. The competent authority's decision regarding the selection of the candidate will be final, and no representation will be entertained in this regard.

11. Incomplete applications or applications not accompanied by the following documents will be summarily rejected (Originals to be produced during the interview).
I. Two recent passport-size colored photograph.
II. Experience Certificate.
III. NOC (In case of government job).
IV. Set of self-attested photocopies of the relevant documents i.e. Date of birth certificate, Educational/ professional qualification certificate, Experience certificate, Category certificate (Date of issue of certificate should not be earlier than 1 year of the closing date of advertisement) & Publication (If any).
13. The Competent Authority reserves the right for any amendment, cancellation and changes to this advertisement as a whole or in part without giving any reason or notice.
14. The walk-in interview will be conducted at the Department of Microbiology, IMS, BHU, Varanasi. No TA / DA will be paid for it.
15. Information pertaining to this advertisement will be displayed on the BHU website i.e. bhu.ac.in
16. All disputes will be subjected to the jurisdiction of the Court of Law at Varanasi, U.P.
17. No application will be entertained 15 days after the advertisement on BHU website.

Eligible candidates may attend the walk-in interview along with the application as per the performa attached in Annexure 'A' along with a certificate of age, qualification, experience, certificate of registration of qualifying degree from a statutory council/body (if applicable), complete in all respects with self-attested hard copies.
