NCBS is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our dynamic team at the NMR Facility. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting the facility manager to maintain the state-of-the-art NMR spectrometers (e.g., 800 MHz and 600 MHz NMR systems with cryoprobes) and helping researchers in their cutting-edge research projects.

Age limit : 35 years as of 01.01.2025 (subject to relaxation as per GoI norms)
Consolidated salary : Rs.28,000/- per month
The appointment will be a fixed-term position initially for one (1) year and renewable annually subject to the outcome of a performance assessment. The position comes with consolidated pay based on qualification and experience, subject to institutional guidelines.
Qualification and Experience :
• Master's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, or a related field
• Previous experience with NMR spectroscopy techniques is preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Responsibilities :
Instrument Operation & Maintenance :
• Assist in performing routine maintenance tasks, including instrument checks, and basic troubleshooting
• Ensure the optimal performance and uptime of all NMR equipment
User Support :
• Provide basic technical assistance to researchers which includes performing basic NMR experiments, analyzing the data, and providing the data to the users
• Assist in training on NMR techniques and data acquisition protocols
• Troubleshoot user issues and provide timely solutions
Laboratory Management :
• Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment
• Manage sample inventory and ensure proper storage conditions
• Assist with ordering consumables and maintaining equipment records
