The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh was conceived in 1960 as a center of excellence which would endeavour to develop patterns of teaching in postgraduate medical education in as many branches as possible and attempt to produce specialists in several disciplines of medicine. It was also envisaged that these specialists would spread out in the country in various medical colleges and medical institutions and impart medical education of highest standard to the students and set up nucleus of excellence in their own institutions. The PGIMER was also given the responsibility to broaden the horizons of medical knowledge by intensive research in the field of health.
Post: Project Research Scientist -1: (01)
Applications are invited on plain paper for the contractual post of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) in the ICMR funded project entitled “Functional implications of the PPARs and TLRs in the pathophysiology of ischemic stroke activation mediated downstream signaling cascade” under Dr. Pramod Avti, Additional Professor, Department of Biophysics, PGIMER, and Chandigarh-160012. The post is purely on contract basis for short term.
Qualification:
Postgraduate Degree, including the integrated PG degrees in Biophysics/ Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology/ Biochemistry/Computational Biology & Bioinformatics (Life Sciences) from a recognized University.
Desirable:
Fellowships of ICMR/CSIR/NET-JRF qualified candidates/ relevant experience in Molecular Biology, cell culture, RNA isolation, cDNA synthesis, qRT-PCR, flow cytometry, Immunohistochemistry and small animal surgeries and handling is desirable.

The above appointment will be purely on contract basis for 6 months. Interested candidates fulfilling the above criteria are required to submit their detailed bio-data and necessary testimonials/certificates on or before 24th February 2025 by 4:00 pm, in the Department of Biophysics, Room No. 520, Research 'B' Block, 5th Floor, PGIMER Chandigarh.
