The history of Jamia Hamdard begins with the establishment of a small Unani clinic in the year 1906 by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed, one of the well-known practitioners of Unani System of Medicine of his time. Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed had a vision of making the practice of Unani Medicine into a scientific discipline so that Unani medicines could be dispensed in a more efficacious manner to patients.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates to work as Project Research Scientist-I (Non- Medical) under the Indian Council of Medical Research, Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India sponsored research project (IIRP-2023-5527) at Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, School of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Jamia Hamdard.
Title of project : Development of New Quinoxaline based 2-Pyrazolines as Potent and Selective MAO-A Inhibitors: In silico Studies, Synthesis and Biological Evaluation

Monthly remuneration : The candidate will be paid a stipend of Rs. 56,000 + 27% HRA per month for the first two years and a 5% hike in salary for the third year. Selected candidate will have to join immediately
Tenure (in years and months) : The initial appointment will be for 6 months. The contract will be renewable subject to satisfactory performance and project requirements. The total project duration is 3 years.
Essential qualification(s) : First class M.Pharm / M.S. (Pharm.) in Pharmaceutical Chemistry/ Medicinal Chemistry with GATE/GPAT/CSIR- UGC NET including lectureship or equivalent examination. OR Second class M. Pharm / M.S. (Pharm.) in Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Medicinal Chemistry with PhD in pharmaceutical chemistry and GATE/GPAT/CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship or equivalent examination
Desirable qualification(s)
• Doctoral degree/post-doctoral experience in Pharmaceutical/Medicinal chemistry.
• Ability to design and execute independent research studies.
• Working knowledge of bioinformatic tools for the development of new synthetic compounds.
• Candidates should have experience of handling animals.
• Good communication skills.
Experience, if any : Previous experience in organic drug synthesis and characterization using different analytical techniques combined with experience in scientific writing as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications.
Age limit, if any : Not more than 35 years. Age relaxation will be provided as per ICMR, Government of India norms.
