Roles and responsibilities
Project Scientist III
• Design research plans, protocols, and methodologies to address key scientific questions of the project along with supervision and execution of project objectives.
• Oversee project resources, including budgeting and scheduling, to maintain project timelines and efficiency.
• Prepare progress reports, maintain documentation, and present findings to stakeholders and funding bodies.
• Fellows will have to go out of station for sample collection or any other work if needed.
• Develop, perform and demonstrate scientific protocols for the project work. Ensure compliances to GLP in the lab throughout the laboratory environment.
• Conduct and guide research activities, from hypothesis formulation to data analysis, and closely work with PI of the project.
• Develop and implement innovative solutions, troubleshooting and optimizing experimental techniques and methodologies.
• Prepare scientific papers, presentations, and, where applicable, patents based on project findings.
• Guide junior scientists, and students, providing training and supporting their professional growth.
• Oversee the project team, assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure alignment with project goals.
• Foster an environment of collaboration within the team and across departments to achieve interdisciplinary research goals.
• Collaborate with other departments, institutions, or industrial partners to leverage expertise and resources. Establish and maintain professional networks, representing the institute at national and international conferences, seminars, and workshops. • Ensure that all research activities comply with institutional, governmental, and ethical guidelines.
• Maintain high standards of quality in experimental design, data recording, and analysis.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with the project, including those related to health, safety, and the environment.
• Perform institutional activities including but not limited to maintenance of stocks of lab chemicals and consumables.

Research Associate / Project Associate
• Responsible for gathering, organizing, and analyzing data to derive meaningful insights. This may involve data entry, statistical analysis, and interpretation of results to contribute to project objectives.
• Conduct in-depth reviews of existing scientific literature to contextualize current research and identify knowledge gaps. This information supports the development of new methodologies and strengthens the foundation for ongoing studies.
• Plan, set up, and conduct experiments or research trials according to protocols. This includes recording observations, collecting samples, and ensuring accurate and reproducible results.
• Develop, perform and demonstrate scientific protocols for the project work. Ensure compliances to GLP in the lab throughout the laboratory environment.
• Maintain detailed records of procedures, findings, and outcomes in lab notebooks or databases. Draft and prepare reports, scientific manuscripts, and research summaries for publication or project milestones.
• Fellows will have to go out of station for sample collection or any other work if needed.
• Work closely with other researchers, scientists, and juniors to achieve project goals, share insights, and contribute to the broader research objectives.
• Assist with administrative tasks related to research projects, such as inventory management, ordering supplies, ensuring equipment calibration, and maintaining compliance with safety protocols and institutional guidelines.
• Present research findings and progress in team meetings, seminars, or conferences. Prepare reports summarizing findings, including drafting research papers, abstracts, and presentations

Junior Research Fellow / Lab Technician / Project Assistant
• Assist in implementation and conduction of research experiments as per project guidelines. This includes preparing materials, setting up equipment, and following protocols accurately.
• Collect data from experiments, analyze results, interpretations of the findings. This may include statistical analysis under the guidance of senior researchers.
• Perform literature reviews to stay updated on relevant studies, help design experiments, and support writing research proposals.
• Fellows will have to go out of station for sample collection or any other work if needed.
• Document all research activities, observations, and results in detail to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
• Assist in drafting research reports, preparing presentations, and contributing to scientific papers for publication or project reviews.
• Work under the supervision of senior researchers and collaborate with other team members, contributing to the project’s overall objectives and timelines.
• Help with managing lab supplies, maintaining equipments, and ensuring adherence to lab safety and institutional protocols.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with the project, including those related to health, safety, and the environment.
• Perform institutional activities including but not limited to maintenance of stocks of lab chemicals and consumables.
• Any other duties allotted from higher authority from time to time.
Terms and Conditions
• The above posts are purely temporary and will be filled on a contractual basis for an initial period of 11 months, which may be extended after satisfactory performance of the incumbent till termination of the project.
• There is no provision of re-engagement after termination of the project.
• The selected candidate shall not claim for regular appointments, as the fellowship is co-terminus with the project.
• The maximum age on the last day of the application as per advertisement of the applicant is 45 years for PS III, 40 years for PSI/RA and 35 years for PAO/JRF and 50 years for PA/LT/AA.
• No TA /DA will be paid for attending the interview.
