The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage.
Post : Project Scientist -1 (Non Medical)
Applications are invited for the following purely temporary post on contractual basis under ICMR funded research scheme entitled "Salivary exosomal long non-coding RNAs (IncRNA) for early diagnosis of oral cancer: A novel comparative approach" at PGIMER, Chandigarh ; under Dr. Shipra Gupta, Principal Investigator, Assistant Professor, Oral Health Sciences Centre as per details given below.
Stipend / Consolidated Salary : As per ICMR Rules (Rs. 56000 x 18%= Rs. 66,080 per month)
Essential Qualification : First class Post graduate degree including the integrated PG degree OR Second class Post graduate degree including the integrated PG degree with Ph.D
Desirable : Good knowledge of research and a minimum of 1 year experience in molecular-based techniques.
Age Limit : Not exceeding 35 years of age
Age relaxation as per ICMR Guidelines.
Duration : Initially up to 14th January 2025 and extendable up to completion of project
Date of start of project : 15/01/2024

General Conditions
1. 2. Age and experience will be counted till the last date of receipt of applications
3. Only shortlisted candidates would be interviewed online
4. Date of interview will be intimated along with the list of eligible candidates on the PG1 website by 15th January 2024. No separate interview letters will be sent and no TA/DA will be paid
5. Any change regarding date and. or time of interview shall be communicated to shortlisted candidates through email phone call.
6. The above assignment is purely on contract basis up to 14th January 2025.
7. Applications lacking complete information as per the proformas and as well as failure in submission of copies of self-attested relevant documents, will liable to be rejected without any communication.
8. This appointment will not vest any right to claim by the candidate for regular appointment or permanent absorption in the Institute or for continued contractual appointment which may be renewed or terminated on the basis of satisfactory performance and conduct.
9. The competent Authority reserves the right to change the number of vacancies, withdraw the process in full or in part and also the right to reject any or all applications received without assigning any reasons or giving notices etc.
10. He / She should also note that he she will have to conform to the rules of discipline and conduct as applicable to the Institute employees.
11. No travelling or other allowances will be paid to the candidate for interview or for joining the post.
12. The candidate should not have been convicted by any Court of Law
13. If any declaration given or information furnished by the candidate proves to be false or if the candidate is found to have willfully suppressed any material information, he/she will be liable to be removed from service or such action as the appointing authority may deem fit.
14. The decision of the Competent Authority' regarding selection of the candidate will be final and no representations will be entertained in this regard
15. Canvassing of any kind will be a disqualification.
