To trace the history of Jadavpur University is to trace a part of India’s freedom movement, at least from the Swadeshi Movement onwards. It was 1905 -1906. Bengal stood divided. The times were feverish. The hegemony of the British establishment had to be challenged. Education had to play a new role in this changed scenario. It had to become a new form of resistance through which the emergent nationalist spirit could be propagated. With this in mind the National Council of Education (NCE) came into being.
The University invites applications in the prescribed form (Priced Rs.50/-) to be available from the Information Office from 05.12.2019 (except Sunday, Saturday and holidays) during Office hours 11 A.M. to 2.00 P.M. and 2.30 P.M. to 4.00 P.M. for 20 numbers of Research Fellowship (Science, Engineering Faculty and Interdisciplinary Schools) under State Fellowship Research Scheme.

Qualification :
The 'eligibility criteria' for the selection of Junior Research Fellow /Senior Research Fellow shall
be with a degree in the appropriate area of study :-
a) B.E. with GATE qualified
b) Only M.E./M.Tech. degree shall be considered for SRF C) M.A/M.Sc. with NET/GATE/SET qualified.
d) M.A/M.Sc. with 55% marks in aggregate where the scope of NET/SET is restricted or does not currently exist. In this case, a selection test may be conducted for consideration.
Value : Rs. 18,000/- per month (fixed) for Junior Research Fellow.
Rs. 20,000/- per month (fixed) for Senior Research Fellow.
Age : Up to 28 years for Science subject and 35 years for engineering subjects.
Reservation : As per UGC rules.
Duration : 2(two) years (extendable on satisfactory performance)
