University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Panjab University is a premier institute of pharmaceutical education and research assigned NIRF Rank 2 in the country. The institute set up in the pre-independent India, at Lahore, in 1944 has a prestigious and long history. The institute hosted Pharmaceutical Sciences Oration by a Nobel Laureate, Prof. Ben Feringa and other mega events including global alumni meet to commemorate its Platinum Jubilee Year in 2019.
Post : Guest Faculty (Assistant Professor)
All the applicants are advised to bring their original certificates and other relevant documents for verification along with the duly filled form giving the details at the time of interview. The application form for the post of Assistant Professor is available and the same is to be submitted in the office of the undersigned on the date of the interview along with photocopies of two set of attested certificates and other supporting documents.
Essential Qualification
Masters degree in Human Genomics/ Human Genetics/ Biochemistry/ Genetics/ Life Sciences or allied subject with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in appoint scale wherever grading system is followed) from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. A relaxation of 5% shall be provided for the candidate belonging to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe/ Differently-abled/ Other Backward Classes (OBC) (Non- creamy Layer)/Ph.D. Degree holders, who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19 September, 1991.
Desirable Qualification : Ph.D. in Human Genomics/Human Genetics/Biochemistry/Genetics/Life Sciences or allied subject.
Besides fulfilling the above qualification, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET or candidate who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with regulation of the University Grants Commission. Provided further, candidate registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:-
a) Ph.D. degree of the candidate awarded in regular mode only.
b) Evaluation of the Ph.D. thesis by at least two external examiners.
c) An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate had been conducted.
d) Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work out of which at least one must be in a refereed journal.
e) Candidate has made at least two presentations in conference/seminars, based on his/her Ph.D. work. (a) to (e) as above are to be certified by the Registrar/Dean (Academic Affairs).
Note : No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
Walk in interview for appointing one (01) Guest Faculty (Assistant Professor) to teach odd semester of the academic year 2022-2023, for a period of (August, 2022 to December, 2022), will be held on August 17, 2022 at 02:30 p.m. in the library of the department.
