NIPER-Guwahati is the fifth such Institute to be included in the list of premier Institutes under the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India.TheNIPERGuwahatistartedfunctioningfromSeptember2008. The Institute is presently located at its permanent campus at Changsari-781101, Dist. Kamrup, Assam. The Institute has excellent facilities for advanced Education and Research in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Presently the Institute is offering M.S(Pharm.) and Ph.D. Programmes in six different branches namely Pharmacology & Toxicology, Biotechnology, Pharmacy Practice, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutics, and Medicinal Chemistry.

Research Associate - I
Emoluments* per month : Rs. 47,000/-p.m. plus 16% HRA
Project : NCPE, DST
Max. Age # : 35
Essential: Ph.D with 60 % marks in Post-Graduation (MPharm / MS / M.Tech) in Pharmaceutics or Pharmaceutical Technology / Bioscience and Bioengineering or M.Pharm/ M.S / M.Tech in Pharmaceutics or Pharmaceutical Technology/ Bioscience and Bioengineering with 3 years of research /teaching/industrial experience.
Desirable : Preference will be given to the candidate having expertise in formulation development (conventional as well as advanced delivery systems) and analytical techniques such as HPLC/ LCMS/ GCMS, etc. with atleast two publications in SCI Indexed Journal as a first author.

Research Associate - I
Emoluments* per month : Rs. 47,000/-p.m. plus 16% HRA

Essential: Ph.D. (Chemistry) and Post-Graduation (M.Sc.) in Organic Chemistry with first-class (60% marks).
Desirable : Research experience in the area of organic synthesis as evident by publications and/or patents. Expertise in sustainable Organic Synthesis (design and synthesis of bioactive compounds and small molecules) and drug discovery (in context to Medicinal Chemistry) etc. Preference will be given to the candidates :
• Who understands the logic in Organic Synthesis (Organic reaction mechanism, Principles of synthetic planning, Alkylation, Reaction of yields, Hydroboration) and related topics.
• Have at least two publications in SCI Indexed Journal as a first author.

Assistant Professor in Dept. of Pharmaceutical Analysis (Ad-Hoc Position with Consolidated Salary)
Project : NDTL
Max. Age # : 40
Essential: Ph.D., in Pharmaceutical Sciences with First class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree (M.Pharm / MS / M.Sc.) in Pharmaceutical Analysis, Quality Control & Assurance with a very good academic record throughout with minimum of 2 years of post-Ph.D Teaching / Research / Industrial experience with published works of high quality.
Desirable : Candidate should have expertise in handling equipment’s like HPLC, LCMS-MS, GCMS, ICPMS, etc., and strong research background in method development and validation, impurity profiling, metabolic stability studies, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetic [DMPK] studies, etc. Candidate should have demonstrated adequate experience of independent research in terms of guidance of Masters’ students, execution and/or recipients of sponsored/EMR projects and with two publication in SCI journals.

# For RA age may be relaxed to maximum of 5 years for candidates having more than 3 years of research experience at reputed institutes.

GENERAL CONDITIONS
1. All appointments are temporary and contractual in nature with consolidated salary without any other allowances for the Project period only and it is renewable based on the requirement, performance and mutual consent.
2. For the positions given under Sl. No. 1: The appointment will be on the contract basis initially for up to one year (12 months) only. The tenure may be extended up to the completion of the project based on the performance and mutual consent (total duration of the project is 02 years). The position terminates with the project.
3. For the positions given under Sl. No. 2 and 3: The appointment will be on the contract basis initially for up to one year (12 months) only. The tenure may be extended up to the completion of the project based on the performance and mutual consent (total duration of the project is 03 years). The position terminates with the project.
4. HRA is admissible for those positions where it is specifically written along with the emolument.
5. All the positions shall be governed by the disciplinary regulations, including leave as per rules of the Host Institute that is NIPER-Guwahati where he/she will be working.
6. The process of selection will be through both online/offline presentation/seminar/test/ interview or as may be decided by the Selection Committee.
7. Candidates should read carefully the requisite minimum essential qualifications, age and eligibility, experience criteria etc. laid down in the advertisement before applying for the above post.
