Career for Ph.D, M.Sc in National Genomics Core Project at CDFD

The Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) is an autonomous organization funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. CDFD receives funding also from other agencies on specific collaborative projects. In addition, DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics services provided by the centre support some of the activities. The Centre is recognized by the University of Hyderabad for pursuing Ph.D. programme in Life Sciences. The centre is equipped with world class state-of-the-art instrumentation and computing infrastructure to facilitate working in frontier areas of research in Life Sciences.

CDFD, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, invites applications from Indian nationals for the following purely temporary vacancies in research project entitled "NATIONAL GENOMICS CORE" funded by DBT.

Experimental Laboratory Manager : (01 No. post)
Age Limit : 40 years
Consolidated Emoluments : Rs. 50,000/- Rs. 75,000/- p.m.
Essential qualifications :
• Ph.D. in Genomics / Life Science subjects
• Minimum 3 years' post-Ph.D. experience in genomics platform technologies
Desirable Qualifications :
• Degree/Diploma in Business Administration
• Conversance with Quality Assurance and GLP
• Proven track record of independent academic work and leadership
• Two years' experience in management of a service laboratory
Nature of Duty : Will manage and coordinate experimental laboratory facilities, execute projects in time bound manner and implement Quality Assurance and GLP measures.

Computational Laboratory Manager: (01 No. post)
Age Limit : 40 years
Consolidated Emoluments : Rs 50,000/- Rs 75,000/- p.m.
Essential qualifications :
• Phd in Statistics / Informatics / computational biology or related discipline
• Minimum 3 years' post-PhD experience in computational analysis of massively parallel DNA sequencing data
Desirable Qualifications :
• Degree/diploma in business administration
• Conversance with Quality Assurance and IT compliance measures
• Proven track record of independent academic work and leadership
• Two years' experience in management of a service laboratory
Nature of Duty : Will manage and coordinate data analysis operations, execute data analysis projects in time bound manner and implement Quality Assurance and IT compliance measures.

Technical Associate (Experimental) : (01 No. post)
Age Limit : 35 years
Consolidated Emoluments : Rs 40,000/- Rs 70,000/- p.m.
Essential qualifications :
• M.Sc. or equivalent (or B.Sc. with 3 years laboratory experience) in Genetics/Life Sciences/Biochemistry/related discipline
• Minimum 3 years of experience (in addition to above qualification) of working in high-throughput genomics platforms (massively parallel sequencing and microarray)
Desirable Qualifications :
• Experience in whole genome / targeted sequencing, RNA-Seq, GWAS and Methylation Array
• Experience in laboratory automation platforms
• Experience in a service laboratory
• Proficiency in massively parallel sequencing library preparation and/or operation of sequencing/microarray platforms
Nature of Duty : Hands-on massively parallel sequencing, microarray data analysis, data analysis pipeline operations as well as other related laboratory activities

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
The general terms and conditions governing the Advertisement No. CDFD/EMPC/2/AUG' 20 are as follows:
• Depending on the qualifications, experience and recommendations of the Selection Committee, the selected candidates may be placed in a scale and designation lower than the grade advertised/applied (in the same group)
• All these positions are purely temporary and are initially for a maximum of one year. They could be extended/terminated depending on the continuation of the project(s).
• Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped/Ex-service person/EWS applicants will be as per Govt. of India rules.
• Relaxation of age for SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped/Ex-service persons/Women applicants will be as per Govt. of India rules.
• Mere fulfilling the minimum qualifications will not entitle the candidate for being shortlisted for interview. The applications will be screened by a Committee and candidates found suitable will be shortlisted and interviewed through video conference. The decision of the Director, CDFD will be final in this respect and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
• Any of the selected individuals may from time to time be assigned to perform any other duties commensurate with their qualifications, by the Director, CDFD.
• The Director, CDFD reserves the right to suitably change/relax any of the above conditions. He also reserves the right to accept or reject any application without assigning any reason.
