Assam University came into existence through Assam (Central) University Act, 1989. It was established in 1994, since then the University is steadily becoming an excellent centre of learning. The campus, situated in Dargakona, about 20 kms from Silchar, is set amid sprawling hillocks, a typical landscape in the North East. The campus in an area of 600 acres surrounded by lakes and mountains provides an ideal environment for academic pursuit.

Post : JRF in DBT-Twinning Project for 3 years

Applications are invited for a position of JRF in a DBT Twinning project entitled: “Study of Water- Soluble (C70- and C60-) Fullerene-Porphyrin Dyads as Inhibitors of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV): Synthesis, Characterization and Anti-HIV Activity” in the Dept. of Chemistry, Assam University (Central University), Silchar, Assam for a period of about three years from the date of commencement of the project. It is a major research project in collaboration with South Asian University, New Delhi and Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Kolkata.

Candidates who are extremely sincere, hardworking and committed to research will be given priority.

The DBT norms will be followed for the selection process.

Essential qualification: M. Sc or M. Tech in Chemistry or Biochemistry or Pharmaceutical Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or Chemical Technology

Desirable Qualification: CSIR-NET JRF/LS, or GATE in Chemistry, research experience in synthetic organic chemistry.

Emolument: JRF Rs.25,000/- + 10 % HRA for the 1st and 2nd year and Rs 28,000/- + 10% HRA for the 3rd year as SRF and applicable only if JRF/SRF is NET/GATE/BET/BINC qualified, otherwise it shall be Rs 12,000/- + 10% HRA only for the 1st and 2nd year (for JRF) and Rs 14,000/- + 10% HRA for the 3rd year (for SRF).
