Pay Scale: Rs.15600-39100(PB-3) plus Rs.6600 (Grade Pay) (Total emoluments excluding TA and HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs.57100/- p.m. approximately.)

Age: Not exceeding 40 years as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 45 years for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Candidates. Not exceeding 43 for OBC candidates as vacancies are reserved for them as on normal closing date. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central /UT Govt. servants up to five years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualificaiton (s)
A. EDUCATIONAL
(i) Graduate degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Chemistry or in Medicine with specialisation in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology from a recognised University established in India by law.
(ii) Postgraduate Degree in Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Chemistry/ Biochemistry/Chemistry/Microbiology/Pharmacology from a recognised University or equivalent.

NOTE Qualification of Associate-ship Diploma of the Institution of Chemists (India), Kolkata shall be treated as equivalent to M.Sc. degree in Chemistry.

B. EXPERIENCE
5 years’ experience in dealing with matters related to the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 (23 of 1940) and rules thereunder or 5 years’ experience either in the manufacture or testing of drugs.
NOTE-II The qualifications are relaxable at Commission’s discretion in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
NOTE-III The qualification(s) regarding experience is/are relax able at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates if at any stage of selection the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the posts reserved for them.

Duty(ies)
i) To assist in implementation of various provisions of DC Act relating to import of drugs/cosmetics, joint inspections, investigation of adulterated/ sub-standard/ spurious drugs moving in the inter-state commerce and Central License Approving Authority
ii) Screening of pre-clinical and clinical data on new drugs molecules, examination of clinical trial protocols in India, liaison with agencies like ICMR, Central Drug Laboratory, and examination of packaging insert of promotional material and monitoring of adverse reactions to drugs.
iii) To supervise the overall activities of Drugs Inspectors/ Technical Officers/ Senior Technical Assistants/ Technical Assistants.

Probation: Two years

Head Quarter: Dte.G.H.S. (Hq.) (CDSCO) or anywhere in India

Other Details: The post is in General Central Service, Group ‘A’, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. The posts are temporary

Any Other Conditions: The appointment will be on temporary basis
