The Laboratory was established in 1941 as a research and production centre, known as Drug Research Laboratory of J&K State and was later taken over by Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) of Govt. of India in December 1957 as Regional Research Laboratory, Jammu. In view of its core strength in natural products based drug discovery, the mandate of Institute was redefined in 2005 and its name changed to Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM).
Post : Senior Project Associate (SPA) [01 Position]
Applications in the prescribed format are invited from eligible and interested candidates for engagement of Senior Project Associate on a purely temporary basis under DST & DoP sponsored project No. GAP-3138 entitled “Centre for Marine Therapeutics (CMT),” tenable at CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu.
Essential Qualification : M.Sc / M.Pharm. in Organic / Analytical Chemistry / Natural Products Chemistry / Pharmaceutical Chemistry from a recognized University or equivalent. (and) 4 years R&D experience in Natural Products Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry with Phytochemical Analysis in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science & Technology Organizations. (Or) Doctoral Degree in Natural Products Chemistry from a recognized University or equivalent.
Desirable : Skilled in natural products chemistry with a strong background in extraction, isolation (utilizing various chromatography methods, including HPLC), and characterization (employing modern spectroscopic techniques) of secondary metabolites from natural sources, including those from microbial cultures, and marine invertebrates. Proficient in reviewing relevant literature and compiling detailed reports.
Upper age limit : 40 years
Monthly Emoluments (Rs.) : Rs. 42,000/- + HRA
Note : The tenure of engagement shall be co-terminus with the project GAP-3138. The duration of the project is up to 04.03.2028.
Important Instructions

Candidates belonging to these categories should send the certificates in the presribed format issued by the appropriate authority as per the latest instructions issued on the subject. 3. Online Selection Procedure
1. Application for the position can be filled out online.
2. The filled-up Google Form should be submitted by or before 08th April 2024 (Monday) up to 5:00 PM. Application Forms after the scheduled date and time shall not be entertained for the interview.
3. Only eligible candidates shall be accessed for the viva voce on the date of the interview. The list of eligible candidates and the date for the interview will be displayed on the CSIR-IIIM Website, iiim.res.in, by the evening of 10th April 2024 (Wednesday).
4. Eligible/shortlisted candidates shall attend the interview online through video conference on MS Teams. The shortlisted candidates have to be available on the date of Online Interview from 10.00 A.M. onwards and will be called anytime during the allotted time period (if any change is there, they will be accordingly intimated).
5. In case a large number of candidates apply, the Screening Committee may re-visit the screening criteria and shortlist the candidates for interview in proportion to the available vacancies.
6. Candidate has the option to interact in English/Hindi before the Selection Committee.
7. The position is purely temporary on a contract basis and co-terminus with the Project.
8. In case the final certificates reflect CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades, the candidate should convert the same into an equivalent percentage as per the approved formula of the University in the Google Form, and a copy of such conversion must be attached along with the google form.
9. To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfill the eligibility criteria and possess the degrees/mark sheets in the subjects above should apply for the interview.
10. Upon selection/empanelment, the original documents, including eligibility qualification, DOB, caste, and age relaxation certificate, will be verified; if any discrepancy is found, the selection/empanelment shall stand canceled.
