The Laboratory was established in 1941 as a research and production centre, known as Drug Research Laboratory of J&K State and was later taken over by Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) of Govt. of India in December 1957 as Regional Research Laboratory, Jammu. In view of its core strength in natural products based drug discovery, the mandate of Institute was redefined in 2005 and its name changed to Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM).
Applications in the prescribed format are invited from eligible and interested candidates for engagement of Project Associate-I on a purely temporary basis under the CSIR-funded project No. FTT-020510 entitled “A New Chemo-Enzymatic Process for the Synthesis of Pregabalin,” tenable at CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu.
Project Associate-I [01 Post] - Biology
Essential Qualification : M.Sc. in Biological Sciences / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Life Science/ Biochemical Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent
Desirable : Experience in basic microbiological methods, isolation and maintenance of microorganisms/ biotransformation / fermentation etc.
Upper age limit : 35 years
Monthly Emoluments (Rs.) : Rs. 25,000/- + 16% HRA
Project Associate-I [02 Posts] - Chemistry
Essential Qualification : M. Sc. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Organic Chemistry from a recognized University or equivalent.
Desirable : Experience in basic organic synthesis.
Upper age limit : 35 years
Monthly Emoluments (Rs.) : Rs. 25,000/- + 16% HRA
Important Instructions
1. The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement shall be initially for a period of ONE YEAR, extendable on yearly basis subject to performance review and project duration. The duration of the project is up to 31.03.2026.
2. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR – Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu or different Lab./Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 5 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-IIIM, Jammu.
3. Age will be reckoned as on the date of the Interview.
4. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates as per GOI/CSIR Instructions. Candidates belonging to these categories should send the certificates in the presribed format issued by the appropriate authority as per the latest instructions issued on the subject.
5. Age relaxation for Widows, Divorced Women, and Women Judicially separated from Husbands who have not remarried since, as per GOI/ CSIR provisions.
6. The filled-up Google Form should be submitted by or before 26th April 2024 (Friday) up to 5:00 PM. Application Forms after the scheduled date and time shall not be entertained for the interview.
7. Only eligible candidates shall be accessed for the viva voce on the date of the interview. The list of eligible candidates and the date for the interview will be displayed on the CSIR-IIIM Website, iiim.res.in, by the evening of 30th April 2024 (Tuesday).
8. Eligible/shortlisted candidates shall attend the interview online through video conference on MS Teams. The shortlisted candidates have to be available on the date of Online Interview from 09:30 A.M. onwards and will be called anytime during the allotted time period (if any change is there, they will be accordingly intimated).
9. In case a large number of candidates apply, the Screening Committee may re-visit the screening criteria and shortlist the candidates for interview in proportion to the available vacancies.
10. Candidate has the option to interact in English/Hindi before the Selection Committee.
11. In case the final certificates reflect CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades, the candidate should convert the same into an equivalent percentage as per the approved formula of the University in the Google Form, and a copy of such conversion must be attached along with the google form.
12. To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfill the eligibility criteria and possess the degrees/mark sheets in the subjects above should apply for the interview.
13. Upon selection/empanelment, the original documents, including eligibility qualification, DOB, caste, and age relaxation certificate, will be verified; if any discrepancy is found, the selection/empanelment shall stand canceled.
NO TA WILL BE PAID FOR ATTENDING THE INTERVIEW. INTERIM ENQUIRIES WILL NOT BE ENTERTAINED.
