Post: Business Development Manager - Generics

Job Description
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
* New product identification and sales plan with launch timelines
- Review top molecules, competitor actions, etc. to identify potential new products
- Review product range available with existing TPMs as well as other potential TPMs to identify portfolio gaps which can be bridged
- Discuss with division / BU head and internal stakeholders (e.g. BD) to shortlist molecules/ products for launch
- Assess current market size, growth, top brands for identified molecules to decide sales plan for new products
* Co-ordination and execution for new products
- Identification and finalization of TPMs for new products coordinating with supply chain, QA
- Co-ordination with supply chain, QA, regulatory and legal to ensure timely completion of all activities related to new product development
- End-to-end responsibility from identification of product to making the product available for sales as per agreed timelines and ensuring compliance with Abbott policies/ processes as applicable to Generics BU
- Supporting TPM co-ordination for new products for a period of 6 months to
1 year post which the same will be handed-over to supply chain team

* Market research/ scanning on a periodic (quarterly) basis for reviewing success and generating new ideas
- Review success of new products as well as focus brands in Generics BU through discussions with sales teams as well as channel (distributors, stockists, select chemists)
- Maintain regular connect with channel partners to assess success of our existing schemes, be up-to-date on competitive scenario with respect to channel schemes, identify new schemes/ support mechanisms for channel
* Marketing support to channel to ensure success of new products and focus brands
- Share innovative ideas based on market scanning with sales managers to improve performance for new products/ focus brands
- Support sales team in execution of new schemes/ support mechanisms for channel
* Continuous improvement in material costs for focus brands/ key products
- Regularly review cost trends across TPMs
- Support supply chain in negotiations of costs with existing TPMs, where required
- Identify and support on-boarding (in line with Abbott guidelines) of new

Qualifications:
1. Graduation from a reputed university

Experience:
1. Minimum requirement: 3+ years of experience in supply chain in pharmaceutical industry background in terms of coordinating with multiple third party manufacturers to ensure product availability at optimal costs
2. Additional preferences:
- Project management experience
- Product marketing experience
- ‘Generics Pharma Industry’ experience
