National Centre for Cell Science require M.Pharm/ M.Sc (10 posts) as Post - Doctoral Fellow, Research Associate, Senior Research Fellow, Junior Research Fellow

The National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS) took birth as National Tissue Culture Facility in March 11, 1986 with a mandate of basic research, teaching & training, and as a national repository for cell lines/hybridomas etc. The centre is located in the midst of academically enriched environment of University of Pune campus, Pune.

Post: Post - Doctoral Fellow, Research Associate, Senior Research  Fellow, Junior Research Fellow

Sr. No . 01- Post - Doctoral Fellow (One Post)
Name of the project & Principal Investigator: “Understanding the  mechanism of  persistence of  memory” under  supervision  of  Dr.  Amitabha Majumdar,  Scientist ‘D’
Upper Age limit: 35 years
Qualification & Experience: Essential:  Ph.D. in any branch of life science  or equivalent degree or having  three years of research experience  after MVSc/MPharm/ME/MTech.
Desirable: Experience with fly  genetics, MARCM, S2 cell culture,  immunohistochemistry,  immunocytochemistry,  neurobehavior, confocal microsopy,  imaging, biochemical and molecular biology techniques. Candidate  should be well trained to prepare  manuscripts and write grants.  Additional knowledge in  bioinformatics tools is desirable.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs.  40,000/ - pm (fixed)
Tenure: One Year

Sr. No . 02- Post - Doctoral Fellow (One Post)
Name of the project & Principal Investigator: “Molecular Mechanisms for  Regulation of  lonotropic Glutamate  Receptors by their  Auxiliary Subunits”  under supervision  of  Dr. Janesh Kumar,  Scientist ‘D’
Upper Age limit: 35 years
Qualification & Experience: Essential:  Ph.D. in any branch of life science  or equivalent degree  or having  three years of research experience  after MVSc/MPharm/ME/MTech.
Desirable:  Candidate should have proficiency  in advanced molecular biology,  biochemistry and protein  expression. Experience in x - ray  crystallography/electrophysiology is  desirable.  Ph.D. in the area of  crystallography and biochemistry  preferred.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs.  40,000/ - pm (fixed)
Tenure: Four Years

Sr. No . 03- Research  Associate (One Post)
Name of the project & Principal Investigator: “Prostate and ovarian  cancer detection from  innovative use of  antibody libraries  human lectins,  exosomes and simple  affordable assay  platforms” under  supervision of  Dr.  Sharmila Bapat,  Scientist ‘F’
Upper Age limit: 35 years
Qualification & Experience: Essential:  Ph.D. in any branch of life science  or equivalent degree or having  three years of research experience  after MVSc/MPharm/ME/MTech.
Desirable: Experience in cell culture molecular  biology techniques and protein  purification techniques and having  good writing skills.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs.  22,000/ - pm + 20%  HRA
Note:  Revised  Fellowship  may be  given based  on DBT  approval
Tenure: Two  Years & Nine  Months

Sr. No . 04- Senior  Research  Fellow (One Post)
Name of the project & Principal Investigator: “Regulation of CD44  splicing by tumor  suppressor SMAR1: Implications in cancer  metastasis” under  supervision of Dr.  Samit Chattopadhyay,  Scientist ‘G ’
Upper Age limit: 32 years
Qualification & Experience: Essential:  M.Sc. or equivalent degree with  minimum of 55% mark s in any  branch of life science and at least  two years of post - M.Sc. research  experience.
Desirable: Minimum 4 years of research  experience in good lab in India or  Abroad. Candidate should know the molecular biology techniques  and having publication in good  journals.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs.  18,000/ - pm + 20%  HRA
Tenure: One Year

Sr. No . 05- Senior  Research  Fellow (One Post)
Name of the project & Principal Investigator: “Regulation of T cell  development and  differentiation by  nuclear matrix protein  SMAR1: Its  Implications in  immune response”  under supervision of Dr. Samit  Chattopadhyay,  Scientist ‘G ’
Upper Age limit: 32 years
Qualification & Experience: Essential:  M. Sc. or equivalent degree with  minimum of 55% marks in any  branch of life science and at least  two years of post - M.Sc. research  experience.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs.  18,000/ - pm + 20%  HRA
Tenure: Nine months

Sr. No . 06- Senior  Research  Fellow (One Post)
Name of the project & Principal Investigator: “An attractive and  promising strategy for  early cancer diagnosis  through the assembly  of the human cancer  volatome” under  supervision  of  Dr.  Srikanth Rapole,  Scientist ‘D'
Upper Age limit: 32 years
Qualification & Experience: Essential:   M. Sc. in Chemistry or equivalent  degree with minimum of 55%  marks in any branch of life science  and at least two years of post - M.Sc.  research experience.
Desirable: Two years experience in  metabolomics, clinical research and  LC - MS, MALDI - MS, GC-MS analysis. Candidate ready to travel many  places for collecting clinical samples may be given preference.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs.  18,000/ - pm + 20%  HRA
Tenure: One year

Sr. No . 07- Junior  Research  Fellow (One Post)

Desirable: Candidate should have proficiency in Gene cloning,  mutagenesis, protein expression, protein refolding & purification.  Candidate familiar with crystallization & x-ray structure analysis is desirable.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs.  16,000/ - pm + 20%  HRA
Tenure: Four year

Qualification & Experience: Essential:   M.Sc. in Biotechnology / Microbiology / Biochemistry / Molecular Biology or  equivalent degree with minimum of  55% marks in any branch of lif e  science and having valid qualified NET/BET Category II Exam.
Desirable:  Experience in molecular  biology and animal handling will be  preferred.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 25,000/ - pm + 20%  HRA for  first &  second year  and Rs. 28,000/ - pm + 20%  HRA for  third year

Qualification & Experience: Essential: M.Sc. or equivalent degree with  minimum of 55% marks in any  branch of life science and having  valid qualified NET/BET Category II  Exam.
Desirable: Experience in molecular biology and mammalian cell culture is desirable.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 25,000/ -pm + 20% HRA for  first &  second year and Rs. 28,000/- pm + 20% HRA for third year
Tenure: Two  Years &  Nine  Months

The  A4 size  envelope containing  the application must be superscribed in bold letters on the top as under: “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF PROJECT - ............”.
- Applications received after the due date and / or without  the  copies of the required certificates/documents will not be considered. Incomplete applications will be strictly rejected. Candidates must be filled up latest prescribed application form only which is available on our  institute website under career tab.
- Mere fulfilling the minimum prescribed qualifications and experience will not vest any right in a candidate for calling for interview. The Centre reserves the right to call for interview only those  candidates who in its opinion are likely to be suitable.  However, no any correspondence will  be entertained in this regard.
- SC/ST/OBC candidates must produce proof of their caste certificate from appropriate authority. In addition, OBC candidates must also produce latest/valid non-creamy layer certificate in the prescribed form for claiming the reservation benefits.
- 5% Marks relaxation will be given to SC/ST candidates i.e. minimum of 50 % marks. 
- The Director, NCCS reserve s the right to enhance / reduce  the number of posts and also  cancel  the recruitment process.

- Fellowship/Emoluments: For JRF Position, Selected candidates who  have qualified NET/GATE /BET with  valid f ellowship/award  will be paid monthly emoluments of Rs. 16,000/ - p.m. + HRA for 1st & 2nd year, Rs. 18,000/-p.m.+ HRA for 3 rd year depending on the project sanction order. Candidates, who have LS qualifications will be paid monthly emoluments of Rs.12,000/- p.m. + HRA for 1st & 2nd Year, Rs. 14,000/- + HRA for 3rd year depending on the  project  sanction order. For RA Position, Candidates who are yet to be awarded  the Ph.D. degree, if selected, will be paid Rs.18,000/- pm + HRA till the award of the degree.
- Emoluments to the research personnel engaged under project (06 - JRF& 08 -JRF) will be made in accordance  with  the  DST  O.M.  No.  A.20020/1197-IFD dated 31.03.2010 and  Emoluments to the  research  personnel  engaged under  project (07-JRF & 09-JRF)  will be made in accordance with the DST O.M. No, SR/S9/Z-09/2012 dated 21.10.2014.
- Candidates should mention title  of the thesis,  list  of publications  with full references in the application form.
- List of shortlisted candidates called for interview will be published on our  institute  website on or  after  30 /04/2015.
- Upper age limit will be considered as on closing date of receipt of application. Age relaxation of 5 years in case of SC/ST/Women/PH candidates and 3 years in case of OBC candidates will be given as  per Government of India rules.  Reservation as per Govt. of India  norms will be followed.
- No TA will be paid for attending the interview.
- Selected candidates will have to join duty immediately on receipt of the offer of appointment.
