ABSTRACT Environmental pollution and food contamination are as old as the civilization itself. It is the consequence of the development of civilization, over utilization of nature, industrialization and in fact a price for the progress. It is highly prominent in Dhaka city. Air pollution is mainly due to the vehicle emission, industrial discharge and burning of fossil fuel. The water resource of Dhaka becomes a major health threat due to arsenic contamination, inadequate household/industrial/medical waste disposal and industrial effluent management. Food contamination came from the commercialism of business people who are doing this knowingly to maximize profit. Necessary steps are to be taken to protect the environment for our own existence. This paper reveals chemical pollution and contamination issues of Dhaka city, the capital of Bangladesh.

    ABSTRACT
Sexual dysfunction or sexual disorder is difficulty experienced by a couple or an individual during any stage of a normal sexual activity, including physical pleasure, preference, desire, arousal or orgasm. Sexual arousal disorders were previously known as impotence in men and frigidity in women, though these have now been replaced with less judgmental terms. The causes vary considerably but include a possible decrease in the production of normal estrogen in women or testosterone in both men and women. Causes of dysfunction are aging, fatigue, pregnancy, medications or psychiatric conditions, such as depression and anxiety.

Herbal medicines may cure or prevent certain ailments. However, there are very little recorded data available to support the dose, efficacy, side effects and interactions. Because the safety and efficacy of herbal remedies they are likely to be used then synthetic medicines. The amount of active ingredients in herbals may vary among preparations. Thus, standardization of herbal medicines is required.

    ABSTRACT
After liberation, Bangladesh pharma industry was largely dominated by the import dependent MNCs. On or before 1982 ordinance, 75% of the market was dominated by the MNCs and the rest share was with the other 133 local companies. After NDP formulation and the Drug Control Ordinance, there was a dramatic change of reverse. By 1994, a few pharma companies achieved a tremendous growth and they reinvest their profit for faster return. By next decade, Bangladesh is aiming to 30 world class drug manufacturers to establish strong footstep in global pharma market. Bangladesh, as an LDC got exempted from the obligation of patent and data protection in this arena until 2033. Interestingly, Bangladesh already passed across the LDC landmark to a developing country. So, there’s window of opportunity of more than a decade to grow further from that aspect.

    ABSTRACT
Exposure to sunlight can trigger various biological responses ranging from sun-burn, erythema to skin cancer. Synthetic sunscreen formulations available in market pose variety of adverse effects. Therefore formulation of the herbal sunscreen formulation and evaluation of its sun protection activity is an important aspect in the cosmetic industry. The various herbal agents contain significant sun screen properties which might be useful for formulating herbal creams and lotions. Therefore evaluation of its sun protection activity is an important aspect in the cosmetic industry. The comparative values of the calculated sun protection factor of twelve commonly used vegetables were evaluated using Mansur equation. Hydroalcoholic herbal extracts were obtained and absorbances were recorded between 290-320 nm using UV-Vis spectrophotometer. It was observed that all of the tested herbal extracts showed some UV protection capabilities with hydroalcoholic extract. Hydroalcoholic extract of beet root showed highest SPF i.e. 39.48 while capsicum extract showed lowest i.e. 2.45. These plant herbals can be formulated in the form of cosmetics formulation because of their better acceptability, less irritant nature and also these are less expensive
