5th ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION OFASSOCIATION OF PHARMACY PROFESSIONALS at Association of Pharmacy Professionals

Bharathidasan Institute of Technology (BIT) has been established as a Technical Institute under Anna University, Chennai by the Government of Tamil Nadu. BIT has carved a niche for itself in providing technical education in the disciplines that are rare of their kind in our country with a high level of competence since 1999. It offers a variety of UG, PG and research programs with an approximate of 5000 students in the campus. The Institution works towards developing partnerships with industries and academic institutes to provide quality education and opportunities for entrepreneurial development. Ideal Cures Pvt Ltd, has received third EXCiPACT certificate for its manufacturing site located at Vasai. The plant at Vasai, the main manufacturing unit of the company, has received EXCiPACT certification for film coating materials (Instacoat, Instanute, Instaspray, and Instamask) and extended cooling boosters (Ecocool). With receipt of this third certificate all manufacturing plants of Ideal Cures located in India at Vasai, Jammu and Khambhat are EXCiPACT certified.

Researchers at City of Hope developed new therapy  for Patients with an aggressive form of pancreatic cancer known as pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma that uses Salmonella bacterium that can help extend the survival of patients. The study is published in the Journal Cancer Immunology Research from the American Association for Cancer Research.

A protein named after the famous Hollywood movie Rambo which was earlier thought to be causing death can in fact protect against heart failure, according to research from King’s College London. New research has identified a protein which could protect against heart failure, pointing the way to possible new treatments. The study was published in the journal Nature Communications.

Scientists have developed a novel technique to make production of biodegradable plastic cheaper and greener. The findings could help make the biodegradable plastic known as polylactic acid (PLA) a full-fledged alternative to cheaper traditional petroleum-based plastics. PLA is not yet considered a full alternative to traditional petroleum-based plastics, as it is costly to produce.

Using biochemical and bio-informatics tools, researchers developed a new method to analyze the structure of the venom toxins. Thousands of toxins hidden deep within the venom of a sea cone snail in Queensland has been discovered by Australian researchers. The discovered toxins could be a new target to develop drugs to treat pain, cancer and other diseases.  The study was published in the journal PNAS.
