National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is the first national level institute in pharmaceutical sciences with a proclaimed objective of becoming a centre of excellence for advanced studies and research in pharmaceutical sciences. The Government of India has declared NIPER as an ‘Institute of National Importance’. It is an autonomous body set up under the aegis of Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India. The Institute is conceived to provide leadership in pharmaceutical sciences and related areas not only within the country, but also to the countries in South East Asia, South Asia and Africa. NIPER is a member of Association of Indian Universities and Association of Commonwealth Universities.
Following research positions are available in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, NIPER, S.A.S. Nagar:
Post: SRF (One position)
Salary: Rs. 14000/- pm + HRA as applicable
Project title (Project No. and Principal Investigator)
CSIR funded Project entitled “Evaluation of the effects of hyperglycemia on sodium channel kinetics and neurite growth in dorsal root ganglion neurons and its modulation by Neuronal Growth Factors (Project # GP-354, PI: Dr J.N. Singh)
Qualification and Experience:
First Class marks/grades in aggregate in M. Pharm/ M.S.Pharm/ M. Sc. with two year experience or equivalent degree in relevant subject (life sciences/zoology/ biochemistry/ biotechnology/pharmacology/ neuroscience) with NET/ GATE/ GPAT. Research experience in the field of cell culture and electrophysiology research technique will be preferred.
Age Limit: Maximum 32 years (age relaxation for SC/ST/PH/OBC as per GOI rules).
Tenure: The above positions are purely temporary initially for one year, extendable for second year based on the performance of the candidate and are co-terminus with the project and do not holds right to permanency.

Nagar (Mohali) – 160062. Candidates should bring three copies of the application giving the following details (a) curriculum vitae (b) name, address, e-mail ID and contact No. of 02 references with their recommendation letters, (c) reprints of selected research publications, if any, (d) letter of intent and research interest (2-page), (e) Attested copies of degrees and mark sheets, and (f) proof of experience, if any. Application should be accompanied by demand draft of Rs.50/- (Rs. 25/- for SC/ST & PH candidates) in favor of “Director, NIPER”, payable at Mohali or Chandigarh. Reservation of SC/ST and PH is as per GOI rules.
No TA/ DA will be paid for attending the walk-in interview.
