Panjab University is located in Sector 14 and Sector 25 of Chandigarh, spreading across an area of almost 550 acres.  The layout of two campuses of the University has been conceived to meet the academic, administrative, sports/recreational, residential and other requirements of a growing [Panjab University] University.

Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, the sixth member of the IIT fraternity, was established in 1994. The academic programme of IIT Guwahati commenced in 1995. At present the Institute has eleven departments and five inter-disciplinary academic centres covering all the major engineering, science and humanities disciplines, offering BTech, BDes, MA, MDes, MTech, MSc and PhD programmes.

BIRAC is a Schedule B Not-for-profit Section 8, Public Sector Enterprise, set up by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology as an Interface Agency to strengthen and empower the emerging Biotech industry to undertake strategic research and Innovation, addressing nationally relevant product development needs. The mandate of BIRAC is to catalyse the transformation of the rapidly growing biotechnology sector in India including med-tech towards achieving excellence at global level.

The Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD) although registered in April, 2001, under the Manipur Societies Registration Act, 1989, the regular activity of the Institute could be started only with the appointment of its first Director on 18th January, 2003 to achieve the following mission, goal and objectives.
