National Health Mission (NHM) is committed to provide accessible, affordable and accountable quality health services to the last person of the last household of the last village. Agricultural education was first started in Bihar in 1945 with the establishment of Bihar Agricultural College at Sabour in the district of Bhagalpur. Later on, it was realised that the agricultural situation and features of the plateau region of South Bihar is different from the rest of Bihar. Hence there was a need of a second college for this region. Ranchi Agricultural College was established in 1955, Ranchi Veterinary College in 1961 and College of Forestry in 1980.

The main mountains of Hazaribag are Chandwara and Jillinja and their heights are about 2816 and 3057 ft respectively. The main rivers of this district are Damodar and Barakar. About 45% area of this district is forest area. The forest area of this district is full of medicinal plants and trees. Due to negligence and lack of awareness they are on the verge of extinct. Leopards, bears, jackals and foxes etc. freely move in these forests.

Palamu is a District in north-western Jharkhand, on the border of Districts Chatra in the east, Garhwa in the west, Latehar in the south and state of Bihar in the north. It came into existence on 1st January 1928. Palamu district lies between 23°50′- 24º8′ north latitude and between 83°55′- 84º30′ east longitude. It covers the area of 5043.8 Sq. Km. The administrative headquarter of Palamu is Daltonganj(Medininagar), situated on the bank of Koel river in between 24º3′ north and 84º4′ east. Daltonganj got its name from Colonel Dalton, Commissioner of Chhotanagpur in 1861. The new name of Daltonganj is now Medininagar in the name of the king Medini Rai.
