Ayurveda Regional Research Institute, Mandi, initially started as survey unit of CCRAS at Joginder Nagar (H.P.) in July, 1970 was upgraded as Regional Research Centre (Ay.) in 1972. In 1983, it was transferred from Joginder Nagar to District Headquarter Mandi and in 1999, it was again upgraded as Regional Research Institute (Ay.) Mandi.

Regional Ayurveda Research Institute for Urinary Disorders, (RARIUD), Jammu intends to engage staff for the projects on contract basis, initially for a period of six months. The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), an apex body for the formulation, coordination and development of research in Ayurveda on scientific lines was established in March 1978 after reorganization of Central Council for Research Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy. The Minister of Health & Family Welfare is the President of the Governing Body of the Council, while the Joint Secretary chairs the Standing Finance Committee. The Scientific/Research Programmes are supervised by the Scientific Advisory Board.

National Research Institute of Ayurvedic Drug Development (NRIADD) formerly known as Central Research Institute of Ayurveda which was earlier established as Regional Research Institute (Ay.) on 1971 at Jagannath Dutta Lane, Kolkata and then the Institute was shifted to Bidhannagar, Kolkata on 1997 in its own building. Govt. of West Bengal had provided 3 acres land in the most posh area of Kolkata (SEZ) for the present campus.

The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) is an autonomous body under the Department of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha & Homoeopathy (AYUSH), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. The Council is an apex body in India for formulation, development and promotion of research in Ayurvedic system of medicine. The Council carries out its activities and functions through its network of 31 Institutions located all over India.
