CCRAS

The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), under Ministry of Ayush, is an ensemble of 30 tangential institutes. This apex body in India is amongst the leading research organizations in the field of Ayurveda i.e. Indian heritage system of medicine.

National Vrkshayuuveda Research Institute (NVARI) Jhansi established in the year 1973, renamed as Central Ayurveda Research Institute in Dec 2020, is engaged in the research with the focus mandate, i. conduct medicio-botanical exploration in parts of Central India ii. Collect and supply genuine raw drug materials for R&D work iii. To build up repositories for medicinal plants and crude drugs iv. To established herbal garden and carrying out cultivation of medicinal plants for Ayurveda.

The Institute activities started in the month of April 1970 and continued up to April 1979 under Composite Drug Research Scheme. It was established initially as Regional Research Institute (Ay.) in 1979 with the merger of survey of Medicinal Plants Unit (SMPU), Mobile Clinical Research Unit (MCRU) in addition to Community Health Care Research Programme. The Institute was upgraded as Central Research Institute (Ay.) in 1999. The Institute has shifted to its own building in August 2002.

The Institute intends to engage the service of one Junior Research Fellow (Chemistry) for the IMR project “Development of SoP Estimation of marker compounds in Polyherbal formulation: Tryushnadi guggulu-A classical Ayurvedic formulation”. The duration of the project is two year.

This Institute was established in the year from 1963 in IMPCOPS, Chennai with a motive to study the phyto-chemical aspects of medicinal plants in an around the city. Later Central Council for Research in Indian Medicine and Homeopathy had taken over this Institute as grant in aid. In the year of 1979, this institute became a part of Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (formerly Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic and Siddha). This institute had diversified its activities to drug standardization besides phyto-chemical studies.

National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research, Guwahati (NIPER-G) is an autonomous institute of National importance and the first national pharma institute in NE India set up by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India by an act of parliament, to impart high quality Education & Research in the area of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) is an autonomous body of the Ministry of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy), Government of India. Further it was renamed as North Eastern India Ayurveda Research Institute in the year 2009 and subsequently it was again renamed as Regional Ayurveda Research Institute for Gastro-Intestinal Disorder. The Institute has its own Land and Building. The Institute was renamed as Central Ayurveda Research Institute with reference to the Letter vide.

The National Institute of Nutrition is an Indian public health, nutrition and translational research centre located in Hyderabad, India.
