Tezpur University was established by an Act of Parliament in  1994. The objects of this Central University as envisaged in the statutes are that it shall strive to offer employment oriented and interdisciplinary courses to meet the regional to national aspirations and the development of the state of Assam and also offer courses and promote research in areas which are of special and direct relevance to the region and in the emerging areas in Science and Technology

A walk-in-interview will be held on 23 February, 2015 at 11.00 a.m. for the following temporary positions in the DBT (U-EXCEL) sponsored project entitled “Sequencing genomes of some bacteria that invade/resides in tomato plant” under the Principal Investigator Dr. Suvendra Kumar Ray, Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Tezpur University.

Applications are invited from Indian Nationals working in any of the North-Eastern States of India (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura) for the award of Biotechnology Overseas Associateship (2015- 2016) under the special programme for the North Eastern States for conducting research or training in overseas research laboratories in different areas of biotechnology such as:

The Reserve Bank of India was established on April 1, 1935 in accordance with the provisions of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934. The Central Office of the Reserve Bank was initially established in Calcutta but was permanently moved to Mumbai in 1937. The Central Office is where the Governor sits and where policies are formulated. Assam University came into existence through Assam (Central) University Act, 1989. It was established in 1994, since then the University is steadily becoming an excellent centre of learning. The campus, situated in Dargakona, about 20 kms from Silchar, is set amid sprawling hillocks, a typical landscape in the North East. The campus in an area of 600 acres surrounded by lakes and mountains provides an ideal environment for academic pursuit.
