Now Graduation mandatory for recruitment as CGHS Pharmacist

The Central Government has released new rules for the recruitment of pharmacists in the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS). According to the new recruitment rules published in the Government of India's Gazette Notification, the minimum educational qualification for recruitment to the post of pharmacist in CGHS has been set to a graduation degree. Additionally, the maximum age limit for candidates has been increased from 25 to 27 years.

These rules may be called the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Central Government Health Scheme Organisation, Pharmacist (Allopathic), Group ‘C’ Post, Recruitment Rules, 2024

Ramraj Choudhary  Pharmacists, CGHS Delhi said, "This change will directly impact the CGHS department, as only graduate and experienced pharmacists will be eligible for this department. This decision is a significant victory for the pharmacist community, which has been demanding respectable positions and salary scales based on their qualifications and experience for a long time. Although the qualification has been increased, the salary scale remains the same. It can be expected that if a new pay commission is formed, it will surely make improvements in the salary scale according to the qualification."

As per new rules, Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) from a Central Government or State Government recognised university or institute are also eligible for jobs in CGHS.
