For security purposes and to avoid spam health ministry decided that the applicants have to pre-register themselves on online licensing portal - the “SUGAM”. This portal is intended for those who desire to file applications for various services rendered by Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO).
Later, the account will be enabled by the IT team at CDSCO after verification of the information submitted at the time of preregistration. This is a onetime process after which the applicant can have continuous access subject to the terms and conditions of the web portal.
The CDSCO in pursuance of implementation of e-Governance has launched an online portal “SUGAM” on 14th november 2015. In the first phase, digitization of applications for grant of Registration Certificate for import of drugs or import licence for drugs in Form - 10, under the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945 has been completed and is operational.
For smooth transition to the e-system health ministry decided that hard copies of the applications will be accepted from 15th January 2016 only from those applicants who have registered on the portal. Subsequently, with effect from 15th February, 2016 all the registered applicants should submit their application online along with submission of hard copies.
