National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) was founded by Sir Robert McCarrison in the year 1918 as ‘Beri-Beri’ Enquiry Unit in a single room laboratory at the Pasteur Institute, Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. Within a short span of seven years, this unit blossomed into a "Deficiency Disease Enquiry" and later in 1928, emerged as full-fledged "Nutrition Research Laboratories" (NRL) with Dr. McCarrison as its first Director. It was shifted to Hyderabad in 1958.

Eligible candidates are invited to attend a WALK-IN-INTERVIEW on the following date sharp at 09:30 a.m. for the following posts on the ad hoc research project entitled “Serotyping RNA virus to study molecular epidemiology of dengue supplementing emergency preparedness and capacity building in metro cities of Karnataka, India” funded by ICMR at this Institute. Essential Qualifications: Ph.D in Biochemistry /Molecular Biology/ Physiology with good publication in National and International Journal of high repute with 15 years research experience. OR MBBS with 15 years research experience in Clinical and Field Epidemiology. Preference will be given to the candidates who have research experience in the research laboratories of ICMR/ICAR/CSIR.
Essential requirement: The selected candidate should be willing to carry out research work in and around Bangalore city, Karnataka, India.
Age: Age below 64 years as on the date of advertisement.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.60,000/-p.m. (fixed) without any allowance.

Essential requirement: The selected candidate should be willing to carry out research work in and around Bangalore city, Karnataka, India.
Age: Not exceeding 30 years as on the date of Advertisement
Consolidated Pay: Rs.16,000/- p.m. plus HRA (fixed) without any other allowances.
Tenure: The total tenure of the above posts is Three Years, initially the appointment orders will be issued for one year and it will be extendable based on the performance of the candidates and funds position.
The candidates should bring all original certificates of educational qualification (from SSC onwards), experience and caste along with a photo and set of photocopies duly attested while attending the Walk-in-Interview.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: The conditions of employment will be the same as are for the project staff on contract basis. The candidates have no right to claim for any regular employment at this Institute. The Director & Appointing Authority has the right to accept / reject any application without assigning any reason and no correspondence in this matter will be entertained.
