Job Description:
Reports to: Sr. Manager - CPO Forecasting
Job purpose:
Support and challenge US CPO business cases and decisions by ensuring the timely delivery of quality forecasts and risks & opportunity analyses for new products
A) Major Responsibilities:
• The ideal candidate should be very analytical and be able to handle, understand and interpret a large amount of data
• The position requires the person to be able to conduct independent research for a particular disease category from various sources regarding: present and future thera-pies, prevalent/treated population, patient types, etc
• They should be able to combine all of the above information into a defensible forecast model for the product-market and effectively present analytically sound recommendations from the model to support product development and licensing decisions
B) Major Accountabilities:
• Guarantee effectiveness and timeliness of Forecasting GPS & C deliverables to the US region marketing science and brand teams
• Top-quality forecasts, through effective project management
• Systematic use of methodological guidelines and processes across forecasts
• Ensure clear and documented identification and assessment of key risks & opportunities for select market and product forecasts
• Transparent documentation of all assumptions

C) Subject matter expertise
• Expert knowledge of key databases and sources used in forecast creation
• Knowledge of forecasting best-practices and standards, strong analytical ability, problem solving, quality management
• Be and act as an expert in forecasting and planning as well as in geographies/ thera-peutic areas of interest, guaranteeing implementation of state-of-the-art methodolo-gies and solutions
Candidate Profile:
Qualifications
Education:
• B. Pharm/B.Tech with MBA
or
• Postgraduate in science; MBA preferable
Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years forecasting/data modeling experience
• Pharma/Healthcare marketing background preferable
Required Skills/Experience:
• Essential - Experience in pulling together multiple data sources such as primary mar-ket research, secondary data and syndicated reports (IMS audits, MatsonJack, Deci-sion Resources, Data Monitor) to generate forecast inputs/assumptions
• Required - Basic understanding of forecast dynamics such as pricing, compliance, days of therapy, patient shares and share switch
• Required - Knowledge of basic Excel, including standard formulas such as CAGR, data validation, trending (linear, log, growth, seasonality), creating and using Pivot tables. Advanced excel knowledge is highly desirable
• Desirable - Experience in developing sales and patient based pharmaceutical fore-casting models. This includes inline, pipeline and business development forecasts
• Desirable – Knowledge of statistical techniques including time series analysis, proba-bility, simulation, r-Square, conjoint analysis
• Desirable - Knowledge and experience in multiple therapeutic areas including CV, CNS, Infectious and respiratory diseases
• Desirable - knowledge of and experience working for the US market
