Maharshi Dayanand University, ab initio established as Rohtak University, Rohtak, came into existence by an Act No. 25 of 1975 of the Haryana Legislative Assembly in 1976 with the objective to promote inter-disciplinary higher education and research in the fields of environmental, ecological and life sciences. It was rechristened as Maharshi Dayanand University in 1977 after the name of a great visionary and social reformer, Maharshi Dayanand. It had a unitary and residential character in its nascent stage, but became an affiliating University in November 1978. The University secured the recognition of University Grants Commission – the higher education regulatory body of India - for central Govt. grants in Feb. 1983.

Position for Project Fellows is vacant in an UGC research projects sanctioned to Dr Samander Kaushik.
Title of project: Rapid Detection and Typing of Influenza A and B Viruses by Reverse Transcriptase- Loop Mediated Isothermal Amplification
To fill up the position, WALK-IN-INTERVIEW will be held on 31 October, 2011 at 02.00 p.m. in the office of the Director, Centre for Biotechnology, Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak.
The interested candidates having M. Sc. Degree in Virology / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Genetics / Zoology with 55% marks and computer literacy, communication skills are required to appear before selection committee with application, CV and original documents as well as one set of photo copy of the documents.
The candidate can also Email their CV before 28 October, 2011. Other Terms & Conditions are as under:-
1. No TA. /DA shall be paid to the candidate attending the said interview.
2. No separate correspondence will be made in this regard.
3. Fellowship will be @ Rs. 8000/- P.M.
4. Preference will be given to NET qualified candidates.
4. Duration of the project is 3 Years.
5. It is temporary post only.
