National AIDS Research Institute [NARI] was established in October 1992 in Bhosari, Pune on a seven acre plot. The Institute has progressively expanded its activities in various aspects of research on HIV and AIDS through infra-structural development, capacity building & research programmes. The present infrastructure includes the Institute housed in a 28024 sq. mtr space, residential accomadation for the staff, a power plant to ensure uninterrupted power supply and an incinerator for safe disposal of bio-waste.

Job Description:
1)Conduct Pharmacokinetic and Pharmacodynamic studies related to clinical trials.
2) The selected candidate will assist in ongoing clinical research and also will be encouraged to undertake independent clinical studies that are aimed at assisting National AIDS Control Programme and improving management of HIV Infection and STI infections.
3) The incumbent will be responsible for running the Pharmacy and assist PI’s in related regulatory issues.
Essential Qualification:
MBBS Degree recognized by MCI
OR
1st class Master’s Degree in Pharmacy or Pharmacology
OR
2nd Class M.Sc + Ph.D degree in Pharmacy or pharmacology from recognized University
Desired Qualification:
1) Doctorate Degree in Pharmacology or M.D. in Pharmacology from recognized University
2)Additional post doctoral research / teaching experience in relevant subjects from recognized Institute(s).
3)Knowledge of Computer Application
Terms and Conditions:
Age: Not exceeding 35 years. Relaxable up to 5 years for Govt. Servants and SC/ST/OBC candidates in accordance with the instructions issued by DOPT, from time to time in this regard. ......
However the prescribed age may be relaxed in exceptional cases for experienced and qualified candidates.
One time age relaxation is also allowed to Scientific & Technical staff working in long term projects in ICMR Institutes/Centres for posts advertised under HRSC,2007 provided they meet essential qualification and experience for the post with a view to provide them opportunity to compete with other candidates as per Council’s letter No.6/1/2007-Admn.II dated 28/03/2011.
General Relaxation Clause: Age, qualification and experience will be relaxable in deserving cases as mentioned in the Recruitment Rules of Health Research Scientists Cadre of ICMR 2007.
All allowances as per Central Govt. rules are admissible on the above pay scale. Benefits of new restructured defined Contributory Pension System are admissible as per provision contained in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs (ECB & PR Division), Notification No. 5/7/2003-ECB & PR dated 22.12.2003 effective from 1.1.2004.
Private practice is not allowed, however NPA is admissible to medical graduates only as per rules. Candidates called for personal discussion for the Scientist ‘B’ post, 2nd class return rail fare by shortest route will be provided on production of documents.

SC/ST and Physically handicapped candidates (P.H.) are exempted from the application fees in the form of DD/IPO. DD/IPO’s are payable by all other candidates including ICMR employees. Incomplete/late applications or applications without demand draft /postal orders will not be entertained. Application received after the closing date for whatever reason is liable to be rejected.
