The International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI) has set up a “Centre for Knowledge Management of Nanoscience & Technology (CKMNT)” with partial financial assistance from Nano Mission of Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India. The centre aims to offer comprehensive one-stop nanoscience and technology information services to researchers, industries, policy makers, venture capitalists and funding agencies and would help in fulfilling the objectives of DST’s Nano Mission. Project CKMNT is being implemented at two locations, namely Hyderabad and Gurgaon. To meet its immediate operational requirements, CKMNT invites applications in prescribed form for filling up posts of Senior Knowledge Officer on contract basis

Job Description: The selected candidate shall play a leading role in creation of nanoscience and nanotechnology literature and patent data bases, including collection, analysis and categorization of data, preparation of value added nano technology business reports, publication of nano lab bulletins and newsletters, as well as nanoscience and nanotechnology consulting services in different sectors of industry.
Essential Qualifications: M.E./M.Tech./M.S. in Metallurgy/Material Science/ Nanoscience/Nanotechnology/Engineering Physics/ Electronics/ Agricultural Engineering/Food Engineering/ Biotechnology/ Biochemical Engineering/ Chemical Engineering/ Biomedical Engineering OR M.B.B.S. OR M. Pharmacy OR Ph.D. in Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology from a recognized University/Institute.
Experience: About 4-8 years R & D experience, preferably in nanotechnology and related areas. Hands on experience in online literature and patent data bases search and analysis is desirable. Should possess good analytical, communication and technical report writing skills.

Note:
i) Age: In case of candidates possessing relevant expertise required for Project CKMNT, age will not be a constraint.
ii) Since Project CKMNT is a time-bound project (i.e. upto March 2014) requiring expertise in very specialized areas, relevant experience in case of each of the above contract posts is very critical. Thus, among the candidates meeting the essential qualifications, those having pertinent experience will be given preference over the other candidates.
iii) The selected candidates will be offered purely temporary appointment on contractual basis in Project CKMNT and will be posted at Hyderabad/Gurgaon and shall not have any right to claim regular appointment or permanent absorption in ARCI/DST. Their appointment will be co-terminus with the Project CKMNT (i.e. presently upto March 2014) or earlier. The contract will renewed on yearly basis, with or without enhancement of salary, depending on performance.
