Fermented Stevia Extract Shows Potential Against Pancreatic Cancer Cells, Study Finds

A research team from Hiroshima University has reported that stevia leaf extract fermented with the plant-derived bacterium Lactobacillus plantarum SN13T demonstrated enhanced anticancer activity against pancreatic cancer cells in laboratory experiments.

The study, published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences, investigated whether fermentation could improve the biological activity of stevia leaf extract and identified chlorogenic acid methyl ester (CAME) as an important compound associated with the observed effects.
