CDSCO has taken serious action against companies which were alerted by WHO for suspicious activities and involved in production of hazardous products in the market.

WHO has issued alerts in three cases of syrup products exported from India. Subsequent to the reports, Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) in coordination with State Drug Controllers carried out joint investigations.

The Indian government has taken a dominant step towards treatment of patients suffering from rare diseases. So far in this fiscal year, the government has allocated Rs. 92.84 crore for treatment of rare diseases.

As per the data available with Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 9,675 patients have been enrolled since November, 2019 on the portal of National Registry for Rare and Other Inherited Disorders (NRROID) out of which 4,408 patients are from centrally governed Hospitals.

Shree Dhanvantary Pharmacy College is a pioneer educational institute and research center in the south Gujarat region. The institute is located on a sprawling campus of 8.32 acres in Kim. Shree Dhanvantary Pharmacy College has built its own credentials in a short span of 10 years.  The institute caters to students opting for B.Pharm., M.Pharm., and Ph.D. The institute is offering postgraduate degrees in leading branches of pharmacy like Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, Quality assurance, and Pharmaceutics.

The foundation stone laying ceremony was performed by the former Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Chandra Shekhar on 20 January, 1991 in Sector 32 on the quilt of 36.09 acre of land allotted by the Chandigarh Administration. The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services focuses on improvement and expansion of the animal husbandry activities and providing quality Veterinary Services in these Islands. This has a direct bearing on the overall development of the rural masses, especially the weaker sections of the society, women, unemployed youth, and tribals. The department carries out planned programmes for development of Dairy and Fodder, Poultry, Piggery and Goatery by providing inputs, training and health cover.

CSMCRI with much scientific excitement has now achieved technological excellence with several granted patents in the core mandate of the institute and is one among the top performing national R&D laboratories in the country. At the beginning of 2011, the Institute has around 360 staff with 150 S&T staff on its roll and around 250 research fellows and project assistants pursing their doctoral programme.

The Regional Medical Research Centre (ICMR), Bhubaneswar is a permanent research centre of Indian Council of Medical Research.
