National Chemical Laboratory Pune, established in 1950, is a constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). Minimum prescribed educational Qualifications : Master's Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/MVSc or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent; and (ii) Four (4) years’ experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services; OR ME /M.Tech in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent with TWO years’ experience in R&D in industrial and Academic Institutions or S&T Organizations and Scientific activities and services; OR Doctoral Degree in Science/Engineering/Technology/Pharma/MD/MS from a recognized University or equivalent
Desirable experience, if any : Hands on work experience in R&D laboratory; Sound practical knowledge in molecular biology, genomics and allied subjects; Preferably with cell culture experience using CRISPR/Cas9 technology; Experience in using Oxford Nanopore Technology based nucleic acid sequencing; Interest and basic knowledge in infectious disease biology
Age Limit : 40
Job requirement : Amplicon Sequencing and metagenomics sequencing of DNA / RNA extracted from field samples, Analysis of sequence data for assembly of consensus sequencing from raw data, mapping to reference data to find genetic variation, matching data to pathogen specific sequences; Transcriptomics data analysis; Field sample collection duty.
Consolidated emoluments per month : (i) 42,000/- + HRA
The engagement will be initially for a period of six months which may be extended or curtailed depending on the duration of the tenure of sponsored project / satisfactory performance or conduct of the appointee, as the case may be. The engagement will be purely on temporary basis and shall not be CSIR/NCL appointment, temporary or otherwise and shall not entitle the appointee to any right/claim whatsoever, implicit or explicit, for his/her consideration against any CSIR-NCL post/fellowship.

No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing for the interview. Selected candidates will have to join duty immediately on receipt of the offer of engagement.
