The Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD) although registered in April, 2001, under the Manipur Societies Registration Act, 1989, the regular activity of the Institute could be started only with the appointment of its first Director on 18th January, 2003 to achieve the following mission, goal and objectives.
Applications are invited from deserved and suitable candidates for the following posts under the project entitled “Exploring the Marine Ecosystems for Novel Bioresources with Human Health and Industrial Significance” funded by Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt. of India.
The main objective of the project :
1. Isolation of Bacteria from Sea Water
2. Phenotypic characterization of the enriched bacteria and Chemotaxonomic characterization of bacteria.
3. Purification and Identification of novel bioactive metabolite from the potential bacteria and their function validation and molecular characterization.
4. Next-generation sequencing for meta-genomics, meta-barcoding, WGS, and mass spectrometry analysis for metabolites and proteins.
Senior Research Fellow / Senior Project Associate (02 posts)
Essential qualification : (i) M.Sc. in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / M.Pharm / MSc in Botany / Chemistry or Life Science or Bachelors’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent
ii) Four years experience in Research and Development in industry and academic institutions or science and technology organisations and Scientific activities and services OR Doctoral degree in Science/Engineering/Technology/Pharma from a recognized University or equivalent
Duration : 02 years or till the completion of the project
Upper Age Limit (Years) : 40
Monthly emoluments (Rs) : 42,000/- + 18% HRA
Technician (01 post)
Essential qualification : B.Sc./ 3years Diploma in Engineering and Technology
Duration : 02 years or till the completio n of the project
Upper Age Limit (Years) : 50
Monthly emoluments (Rs) : 20,000/- + 18% HRA
