The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) is an Autonomous Body, set up under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare primarily with the objective of periodically updating of the Indian Pharmacopoeia, the book of standards for the drugs; the National Formulary of India, the book of reference on the drugs; and other related tasks such as preparing, certification and distribution of Reference Substances; assist the National Pharmacovigilance Programme; testing of the new drugs and review of Technical dossier of Drugs for purpose of monograph development for the Indian Pharmacopoeia. It promotes rational use of medicines through generic prescriptions. The IPC is on path of evolving as a modern scientific institution.
Applications are invited for the following posts on contract basis in the Biologics Section of Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), (Autonomous organization under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare) at Ghaziabad, under the DST sponsored National Facility Project titled “Development of National Laboratory facility for setting quality standard for r-DNA based therapeutics”.
RESEARCH ASSOCIATE (ONE POST)
Remuneration: Basic : Rs.35, 000 per month +HRA (@ 24% of basic) (without any other allowances/ benefits)
Essential: (a)
(i) Ph.D in Biotechnology with first class M.Sc in Biotechnology; or (ii) M.Pharm, first class with three years of relevant experience in research or industry in analysis of r-DNA based therapeutics;
(iii) M.Tech in Biotechnology with three years of relevant experience in research or industry in analysis of r-DNA based therapeutics.
(b) The Candidate should have hands-on experience in ELISA, Western blot and HPLC.
Desirable:
(i) Handling of LCMS, and other modern analytical equipment;
(ii) Experience of Quality Control Analysis of r-DNA based therapeutics and capillary electrophoresis;
(iii) Research publications in peer reviewed journals.
(vi) Preference will be given to the candidates with experience in Biotechnological Products.
SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOW (ONE POST)
Remuneration: Basic : Rs.28, 000 per month +HRA (@ 24% of basic) (without any other allowances/ benefits)
Essential:
(a)
(i) M.Pharm, first class, with two years of relevant experience in research or industry in analysis of r-DNA based therapeutics along with experience in Cell Culture Studies;
(ii) M.Tech, first class in Biotechnology with two years of relevant experience in research or industry in analysis of r-DNA based therapeutics along with experience in Cell Culture Studies;
(iii) M.Sc. first class in Biotechnology with two years of relevant experience in research or industry in analysis of r-DNA based therapeutics along with experience in Cell Culture Studies;
(b) The Candidate should have hands-on experience in ELISA, Western blot.
Desirable:
(i) Knowledge of HPLC, LCMS, and other modern analytical techniques ;
(ii) Experience of Quality Control Analysis of r-DNA based therapeutics and capillary electrophoresis;
(iii) Research publications in peer reviewed journals.
(vi) Preference will be given to the candidates with experience in Biotechnological Products.

JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW (ONE POST)
Remuneration: Basic : Rs.25, 000 per month +HRA (@ 24% of basic) (without any other allowances/ benefits)
Essential:
a) (i) M.Pharm, first class;
(ii) M.Tech, first class in Biotechnology;
(iii) M.Sc, first class in Biotechnology;
(b) Candidates should qualify GPAT/ GATE/NET.
Desirable:
(i) The Candidate should have hands-on experience in ELISA, Western blot and HPLC;
(ii) Experience of Quality Control Analysis of r-DNA based therapeutics and capillary electrophoresis;
(iii) Research publications in peer reviewed journals.
TECHNICAL ASSISTANT (ONE POST)
Remuneration: Basic : Rs.12, 000 per month +HRA (@ 24% of basic) (without any other allowances/ benefits)
Qualifications:
First Class Bachelor’s Degree in any branch of Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical Sciences from a recognized University and having good knowledge of computer applications and writing skill in English language.

Period of engagement: The project is sanctioned for a period of three years and the term of the appointees is coterminable with the project. However, in case the work and conduct of the staff is not found to be satisfactory, the services may be terminated without assigning any reason thereof.
