Job Description
Responsible for all daily functions and operation of Cape Fear Valley Specialty Pharmacy  Manages daily operations of Cape Fear Valley Specialty Pharmacy. 
Develops and implements business and marketing models to grow the Specialty Pharmacy network within Cape Fear Valley Health System. 
Works with the outpatient pharmacy managers to get specialty prescriptions filled. Develops and implements the Coordination of Benefits and Patient Assistance processes to help make Specialty Medications affordable. Participates in the selection of the software platform and develops protocols for proper patient follow-up on specialty medications and documentation. 
Develops and implements the business plan to partner with other Specialty Pharmacies when our outpatient pharmacies cannot fill certain specialty medications. Develops working relationships with physicians and nurses in the Cape Fear Valley Oncology Centers and other outpatient clinics. 

Develops and implements the plan to acquire URAC certification and maintain it.
Supervises all Cape Fear Valley Specialty Pharmacy staff along with their training. Participates in selection of staff during hiring process.
Assures patient satisfaction within reason. Functions as independent manager with minimal supervision.
Determines pharmacy hours of operation along with Corporate Director of Outpatient Pharmacy Services. 
Works as a team player to provide quality patient care. 
Holds self and staff accountable for providing exemplary customer service. 
Develops and implements quality improvement measures to improve patient care and staff efficiency. 
Supervises all activities of Cape Fear Valley Specialty Pharmacy. Assists Corporate Director of Outpatient Pharmacy Services in determining adequate staffing to provide quality patient care and a safe working environment. Performs annual reviews of individual staff members. Effectively transitions into staff roll when necessary.


Candidate Profile
Bachelor's degree in pharmacy required.  Pharm.D preferred.
License with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy required.
Work Experience:
Minimum 1 year Specialty Pharmacy Experience required.  Specialty Pharmacy Management Experience Preferred.
Knowledge, skills, abilities required:
Must be an effective communicator and independent thinker.  Also, needs to possess problem solving skills and natural ability to manage staff.  Constantly able to evolve and flourish as the world of specialty and outpatient pharmacy necessitates.  Demonstrates ability to manage computer systems and inventory efficiently. 
Physical requirements:
Ability to freely move throughout pharmacy, clinics, and surrounding community to interact with staff and perform duties.  Ability to hear conversations with ease and read orders correctly.  Ability to effectively communicate and move moderately heavy objects.
