The facility is affiliated with National Institute of Plant Genome Research, New Delhi (NIPGR) and serve to facilitate genotyping services with private service providers and then advanced these, in a focused way, to meet the goal of food and nutritional security through genomics led breeding. The fundamental principle is relatively simple create and charter an entity with express purpose of serving crop or plant varietal genotyping and characterization in India. It will also help to overcome legal hurdles in Material Transfer, IPR protection, etc.

Candidates are invited to appear before the selection committee in the online interview for filling up the purely temporary position in the Short-Term Research Fellowship programme, under the supervision of Dr. Ashutosh Pandey, Scientist, NIPGR.
Essential Qualification : Candidates having Ph.D. degree in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Molecular Biology or a related field or having M.Tech. in Biotechnology / Bioinformatic with three years of research experience and one research publication, as mentioned in DST Office Memorandum No. DST/PCPMZ-06/2022 dated June 26, 2023, are eligible to apply.
Desirable Qualification : Candidates having research experience in the areas of protein related work/protein-protein interaction/protein-DNA interaction/epigenetics and gene silencing/ functional genomics, duly supported with relevant publications in SCI Journals (having at least two first-author research papers in SCI journals with more than three impact factors) will be preferred.
The Fellowship amount for the above position is at par with the similar fellowships by DBT/DST. The above position is completely on temporary basis with a maximum duration of three years. The initial appointment will be for a period of one year, which can be curtailed or extended based on the performance of the candidate and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The position may be terminated any time by giving a month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.
