Job for Pharmacists in Covid Care Centre at Indian Railways

In view of extraordinary circumstances arising on account of Second wave of COVID 19 Pandemic, in order to provide effective treatment to COVID-19 infected patients at various facilities spread over Hyderabad Division of South Central Railway and for the purposes of testing, vaccination and running Covid Care Centres, it is proposed to fill the following posts on contract basis, for a period of 6 months initially (for Doctors) & 3 months initially (for other para medical staff), by way of conducting On-line interview for the candidates, who fulfill the qualification, experience and other terms and conditions to be engaged as full time medical staff on contractual basis in Medical Department of Hyderabad Division of South Central Railway.

Monthly remuneration in Rs (for open market candidates : Rs. 29,200 (Level 5) (other allowances as admissible)

Qualification : 10+2 in Science or its equivalent, with Diploma in Pharmacy from recognized institution and registered as Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948 (OR) Bachelor degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharma) from a recognized University or equivalent and Registered as a Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act,1948
Note 1 : For retired railway servants, the maximum age limit is 65 years or less
Note 2 : Candidates may please note that though they are selected against the posts, the engagement will be done in phased manner as per the requirement. All the candidates selected may not have any prescriptive right for asking for engagement. Further, the posts indicated are purely provisional, and the same are likely to be increased/decreased based on the actual requirement.
Note 3 : Doctors/para medical staff engaged for Carona Care Centre, RPF Barracks/MLY shall note that they will have to work in 3 shifts a day, with 8 hours each. GDMOs selected for Health units will have to see patients attending Health Unit 9AM to 5PM, monitor Covid vaccination program and attend emergency calls out of duty hours when required.
Note 4 : Candidates may please note that a new Carona Care Centre is being set up at RPF Barracks/MLY and the candidates shortlisted/selected will be engaged after the opening of the new Carona Care centre, as per requirement.


Experience : In view of the Health Emergency due to COVID-19, it is desirable that candidates shall have previous working experience in any reputed hospital in their relevant filed. Previous service rendered on Indian Railways (including on contract) may also be indicated. (copy of past experience to be invariably attached – Railway/Non Railway) Candidates applying para medical categories, should possess experience of working at least for one year in a medical facility having at least 20 bed indoor facilities. Candidates with experience will be given preference. Candidates while applying should indicate past service rendered, if any including the period of contract put by them on Indian Railways, along with copies of testimonials to prove the experience.

Period of contract:- The initial engagement would be for a period of three months (for other para medical staff from the date of engagement or till the currency of the scheme exists i.e. up to 31.03.2022, whichever is earlier. This may be extended as per the extant instructions from time to time.
Place of working : The services are proposed to be utilized at the Covid Care Centre/RPF Barracks/Moula Ali and vaccination centers at Health Units HU/KCG (Kacheguda), HU/MLY (Moula-ali), HU/MBNR (Mahaboobnagar), HU/NZB (Nizamabad) and HU/KRNT (Kurnool Town). Further candidates may note that their services are liable to be utilized at any of the Health Units under the Jurisdiction of Hyderabad Division and place of working can be changed during the contract period. They are required to work in shifts, if necessary. Their services will be utilized for the purposes of testing, vaccination and running Covid Care Centres and provision of general OPD services to the needy patients.


Medical fitness : Candidates (both retired/open market) are required to be found medically fit for holding the post, before they can be engaged on contract basis.
Retired employees applying against the notification may please note that :
(i) Monthly remuneration will be paid by reducing his/her pension from Last Pay Drawn (i.e. Basic Pay + DA). (Pay plus pension should not be more than the last pay drawn).
(ii) Age limit: Upto 65 years in case of retired employees.
(iii) Rly servants removed/dismissed/compulsorily retired are not eligible to apply.

Mode of selection : After scrutiny of the applications received, the same will be shortlisted by the nominated committee based on the Educational, technical qualifications and experience in the relevant field and based on the administrative requirements. Candidates to the extent of 1:3 of the number of vacancies only will be interviewed online call, as per the following programe. The decision of the railway administration in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of the application, penalty for false information, selection, allotment of posts to selected candidates will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained in this connection . Candidates who submit fake certificate for securing eligibility, shall be liable for rejection of his/her candidature for the particular post for which he/she has applied besides being taken up as per common law for attempt to forgery.
Candidates may please note that the services rendered on contract basis for the above period is only a temporary arrangement and they will also not have any claim or right for his/her continuity in service or automatic extension of the term of contract services or will not have any right in respect of considering of their contract period in regular selection through Railway Recruitment Board etc., nor will it confer any right for regularization or absorption. The contract can be terminated by giving 7 days on both the sides. Railway administration reserves the right to terminate the contract at any time during the contract period by giving 7 days notice or payment of 7 days remuneration without assigning any reason whatsoever.
