Presidency University has a unique place in history. It was one of the first institutes of Western-type higher education in Asia. In 1817, a group of enlightened Indians and Englishmen set up the Hindoo College.This was taken over the British Government in 1855 as the College of the Bengal Presidency, and placed in 1857 under the newly founded Calcutta University.
Advertisement for the position of one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under DST-SERB project at Presidency University, Kolkata.
Junior research fellow (JRF)
Fellowship Duration : Three years subject to the availability of funds by the funding agency.
Project Title : “Understanding the interplay between mitochondrial NAD+ Consumers SARM1 and SIRT3 in OXPHOS regulation during Hypoxic cell death”
Principal Investigator : Dr. Piyali Mukherjee
Funding agency : DST-SERB, Govt. of India
Stipend and allowances (as per DST-SERB norms) : Rs. 31000 per month plus 24% HRA allowances = Rs. 38,440 per month (1 st and 2nd year) Rs. 35,000 per month plus 24% HRA allowances = Rs. 43,400 per month (3 rd year)
Qualifications : M.Sc. (in any branch of Life Sciences or Chemistry) with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade from any recognized board/University and qualification of any national level eligibility examination such as CSIR-UGC NET LS, GATE or other examination conducted by central government departments and their agencies or institutions as per the norms of DST, Govt of India. Preference will be given to candidates with research experience in Biochemistry and/or Cell Biology.
