The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage. The institute started in 1962 and Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru inaugurated the hospital now named “Nehru Hospital” on 7th July 1963. The Institute was originally under the Government of undivided Punjab.
Post : Junior Research Fellow
Applications are invited on plain paper for the post of Junior Research Fellow in the DBT-funded projects under Prof. Ramandeep Singh and Prof. Kusum Sharma.
Essential Qualification: Masters (1st Class) in Life Sciences
Desirable: Preference will be given to experienced person with NET / GATE cleared.
Upper Age limit: 25 years
(Relaxable in case of SC/ST/OBC/PH/Women candidate as per rules).
Remuneration: As per DBT Rules.
The engagement in the projects is purely on temporary basis maximum for the period of duration of the project. However, appointment will initially be offered for a period of one year to be and will be extended on yearly basis depending upon satisfactory performance and co-terminus with the project. The appointment can be terminated by either side by giving one month’s notice OR stipend thereof. Therefore, if an incumbent switches between the projects, the appointment will terminate on the day he / she completes 01 years. Please note that it is not a PGIMER / DBT, N. Delhi appointment and will not confer any right on the incumbent to any claim implicit or explicit on any position.
