NIAB is aimed to harness novel and emerging biotechnologies and take up research in the cutting edge areas for improving animal health and productivity. The Institute's focus of research will be on Animal Genetics and Genomics, Transgenic Technology, Reproductive Biotechnology, Infectious Diseases, Bioinformatics and Nutrition Enrichment. The institute aims at translational research leading to the development of novel vaccines, diagnostics and improved therapeutic molecules for farm animals. The Institute plans to promote bio entrepreneurship by providing support environment for commercial tenants involved in the development of farm animal based products.

Applications are invited from suitable candidate for filling up the following position at National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB), Hyderabad against the DBT funded project entitled “Genomics assisted pathobiology to identify novel targets for diagnosis and therapeutic intervention(s) of Japanese encephalitis and Leptospirosis”. PI: Dr. Ravi Gandham, Co-PIs- Dr.Subeer S. Majumdar, Dr. Syed M. Faisal, Dr. Pankaj Suman.

Eligibility: Post Graduate Degree in life sciences OR Graduate/Post Graduate degree in professional course having NET/GATE or selected through national level examination conducted by DBT/DST/MHRD/ICMR/IIT/IISC/IISSER. The candidate should have minimum two-year research experience preferably as JRF (Eligibility criteria as per DST OM No.SR/S9/Z-09/2012 dated 21.10.2014 andSR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated 30.01.2019). However, Non NET candidates can also apply who will be paid as per their eligibility.

Fellowship amount : Rs.35000/-PM +24% HRA (if applicable) as per the DST guidelines.

Experience: Candidate with experience in Molecular biology and Immunological techniques, genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics, and animal (mice, hamster) handling is desirable. Candidates having prior experience in working withJEV and Leptospirawill be preferred.

Age: 35 years (Relaxation is admissible in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government instructions)
