Post : Senior Project Associate

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the post of “Senior Project Associate” on contract basis for the project entitled “Mission Program on Pediatric Rare Genetic Disorders” funded by Department of Biotechnology (DBT) under Dr. G K Chetan, Professor and Head, Dept. of Human Genetics and Principal investigator, NIMHANS.

Essential Qualification
Master’s degree in biomedical sciences, preferably genetics, human genetics, applied genetics, medical genetics, human disease genetics, biochemistry or related areas from a recognized University or Institution and; (i) Minimum three to four years’ experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services. OR Doctoral Degree in Science/Engineering/ Technology / Pharma / MD / MS from a recognized University or equivalent.

Desirable Experience : Experience in genomics, Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) (wet lab and/or bioinformatics) focused on Human Genetics and clinical applications.

Maximum Age Limit : 40 Years
Salary : Rs.42,000/- + 24% HRA Per Month.

Duration of project : 5 years Initial appointment will be made for the period of 6 months, with extension up to the term of the project after revaluation and renewal.
Nature of the work : Handling of biological samples, cataloging, isolation of nucleic acids, QC, NGS library preparation and sequencing, bioinformatic analysis, variant interpretation & reporting
