Job Description
The Department of Chemistry is looking for two dynamic, high calibre individuals for full-time faculty appointments with teaching and research interests at a special purpose teaching university. We invite applications from individuals interested in contributing to a growing modern undergraduate chemistry program with an emphasis on analytical chemistry and the incorporation of green chemistry principles. The program is part of a strategic expansion of program offerings in the Faculty of Science and Technology and is housed in the new Dr. Ralph Nilson Health and Science Centre with over 1000 m2 of modern teaching and project laboratory space.
The degree program provides opportunities for students to specialize in Biological and Environmental Chemistry and incorporates experiential learning opportunities through undergraduate research projects. The Department is home to the internationally recognized Applied Environmental Research Laboratory, with a world-class mass spectrometry facility.
Candidate Profile
Ph.D. in Chemistry; and teaching experience, post-doctoral research and/or industry experience
The desired faculty members are expected to demonstrate excellence as educators, contribute to a respectful, collegial and collaborative environment, complement core departmental strengths in Biological and/or Environmental Chemistry, and maintain a program of scholarly activity/research that includes undergraduate students with the potential to utilize existing infrastructure and attract external funding.
