Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) is an autonomous Institute of the Department of Biotechnology under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. THSTI is developed as a part of the interdisciplinary NCR Biotech Science Cluster to be located at Faridabad, in the National Capital Region. THSTI is designed to be a dynamic, interactive organization with a mission to conduct innovative translational research and to develop research collaborations across disciplines and professions to translate concepts into tangible products to improve human health. Permanent laboratories of the institute will come up in Faridabad within one year. The interim laboratories of the institute are functioning from Gurgaon in Haryana.

Senior Program Officer (SPO) Rs.80,000/-p.m. (with an annual increment of 5%)

Qualification & Experinece: Ph.D. in any branch of Life Sciences/ Medicine / Biotechnology with 12 years post-doctoral relevant experience in the areas of infectious diseases and vaccines.
Excellent written and communication skills in English essential.
Job Description: The incumbent has to
1) Develop and coordinate projects in vaccines and related areas.
2) Organize multidisciplinary stakeholder meetings in this area with support from the administrative staff at the center.
3) Interact with different biomedical scientists, clinicians government departments, industries and civil society bodies to take a project forward.
4) Write publications as well as create "fact sheets" for nonscientific audience
5)Should be able to travel extensively
Program Officer (One) Rs.60,000/-p.m. (with an annual increment of 5%)

Qualification & Experinece: PhD in life sciences/Biotechnology/Medicine with 6-7 post qualification experience
Job Description: The incumbent has to
1) Create and update a database on health sector covering the entire gamut of activities, funding, expertise and infrastructure in the area
2) Continuously update the database created with assistance from administrative staff
3) Provide periodic analysis on this sector to various government and non-government funding agencies, informing them of the existing “gaps” that need to be addressed in the health sector.
4)S/he will also be responsible for contributing to creation of a National Health R&D observatory.
5)Should be ready to travel extensively

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS:
1. Appointment will be made on contract for a maximum period of 5 years or upto the age of superannuation at 60 years, whichever being earlier with an initial probation period of one year, which may be extended at the discretion of the Competent Authority.
