The facility is affiliated with National Institute of Plant Genome Research, New Delhi (NIPGR) and serve to facilitate genotyping services with private service providers and then advanced these, in a focused way, to meet the goal of food and nutritional security through genomics led breeding. The fundamental principle is relatively simple create and charter an entity with express purpose of serving crop or plant varietal genotyping and characterization in India. It will also help to overcome legal hurdles in Material Transfer, IPR protection, etc.

Candidates are invited to appear before selection committee in the walk-in-interview for filling up the purely temporary position of one Research Associate-I in the SERB project entitled “A novel miRNA- target module controlling rice grain size: Identification, confirmation and elucidation of its role in grain development and other seed-related traits, targeting crop improvement”, under Power Grant of Dr. Pinky Agarwal, Scientist, NIPGR.
Qualification : Candidates having Ph. D. degree (awarded) in Bioinformatics / Biotechnology / Botany / Life Sciences / Plant Molecular Biology or equivalent and fulfilling the guidelines of DST Office Memorandum number SR / S9 / Z-08 / 2018 dated January 30, 2019 are eligible to apply. Candidates with exhaustive work experience in the laboratory with plant molecular biology, biochemistry and/or bioinformatics, especially on rice, will be preferred
Emoluments : Rs. 47000/- plus 24 % HRA per month
The above position is completely on temporary basis. The appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier and the same can be curtailed on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualification and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated any time by giving on month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.

The duly filled application form along with the educational certificate must be submitted at the time of registration at NIPGR from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on July 29, 2024. Any candidate reporting after 02:00 p.m. will not be entertained for walk-in-interview. The candidate must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed. All the candidates are requested to appear for the interview with complete bio-data, Ph.D thesis, publications in copy and original degree/experience certificates and transcripts. Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to disqualification of the candidate(s).
Note : Incomplete application and those in the wrong format will be summarily rejected. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in-interview.
