Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) is an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. THSTI is a part of the interdisciplinary Biotechnology Science Cluster at Faridabad, Haryana in the National Capital Region (NCR). The institution is a dynamic enterprise with a mission to conduct innovative translational research and to develop research collaborations across disciplines and professions to translate concepts into products to improve human health.
Applications are invited from leaders who are indian nationals / persons with OCI status to fill up three positions of Dean on direct recruitment / deputation basis. The actual number of positions that will be filled will depend upon identification of suitable candidates. In case of non-availability of suitable candidates for the post of Dean, the post will be operated at the lower level of Senior Professor.
The Dean will be the administrative head/mentor of the thematic research programs as mentioned above and may be delegated additional supervisory responsibilities of academics / students affair / campus matters / international relationships / etc. The Dean/Sr. Professor of THSTI will report to the Executive Director.
Dean (Clinical)
Pay Level : Level 16 of the pay matrix (Rs 2,05,400- 2,24,400/-)
Age Limit :
i. Age limit for direct recruitment : 55 years
ii Age limit for deputation : 58 years
For Direct Recruitment :
Essential : MD (or equivalent) OR PhD with basic degree as MBBS / BDS / BVSc with minimum fifteen years’ of experience in responsible higher position in research / teaching Institute/ University / industry with published research of highest standards and / or technologies of established utility.
Desirable : At least two years' experience as a head of a department in a reputed academic or research Institute or industry. Demonstrated ability to create new knowledge in the area of expertise or translate innovations to develop new processes or products and ability to network with national and global institutes and industry.
Dean (Non Clinical)
Pay Level : Level 16 of the pay matrix (Rs 2,05,400- 2,24,400/-)
Age Limit :
i. Age limit for direct recruitment : 55 years
ii Age limit for deputation : 58 years
For Direct Recruitment :
Essential : MD (or equivalent) OR PhD with basic degree as MBBS / BDS / BVSc OR PhD in Life Sciences/ Medical Sciences / Chemical Sciences / Engineering with minimum fifteen years of experience in responsible higher position in research / teaching Institute / University / industry with published research of highest standards and/or technologies of established utility.
Desirable : At least two years' experience as a head of a department in a reputed academic or research Institute or industry. Demonstrated ability to create new knowledge in the area of expertise or translate innovations to develop new processes or products and ability to network with national and global institutes and industry.
For Deputation (both for clinical and non-clinical) : Scientists of the Central Govt. / State Govt. / Universities / Public Sector Undertakings / Govt. funded research organizations or institutes subject to fulfilment of the following conditions:- (a) Possessing the qualifications prescribed for direct recruits (b) (i) Holding analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre or, (ii) With one year regular service in the Pay Level 15 or four years regular service in the Pay Level 14 in the relevant field.
Senior Professor (Clinical)
Pay Level : Level 14 of the pay matrix (Rs 1,44,200 – 2,18,200/-)
Age Limit :
i. Age limit for direct recruitment : 50 years
ii Age limit for deputation : 58 years
For Direct Recruitment :
Essential : MD (or equivalent) OR PhD with basic degree as MBBS / BDS / BVSc with at least fourteen years’ of R&D experience with original work as evidenced by publications and inventions introduced into clinical practice and policy.
Desirable : Individuals with multi-disciplinary expertise and leadership background will be preferred.
Senior Professor (Non clinical)
Pay Level : Level 14 of the pay matrix (Rs 1,44,200 – 2,18,200/-)
Age Limit :
i. Age limit for direct recruitment : 50 years
ii Age limit for deputation : 58 years
For Direct Recruitment :
Essential : MD (or equivalent) OR PhD in Life Sciences / Chemical Sciences / Engineering with at least fourteen years’ of R&D experience with original work as evidenced by publications, patents and inventions.
Desirable : Individuals with multi-disciplinary expertise and leadership background will be preferred.
For Deputation (both for clinical and non-clinical) : Scientists of the Central Govt. / State Govt. / Universities / Public Sector Undertakings or Govt. funded research and teaching organizations / institutes subject to fulfillment of the following conditions:- (a) Possessing the qualifications prescribed for direct recruits. (b) (i) Holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre or, (ii) With two years’ regular service in the Pay Level-13A of Pay Matrix in the relevant field
Compensation :
1. In addition to the usual pay & allowances as admissible, the selected incumbent will be entitled to other benefits such as a semi – furnished on-campus housing (in lieu of HRA), medical reimbursement, telephone expenses reimbursement, newspaper allowance, children education allowance, Leave Travel Concession, New Pension Scheme contribution etc. as per the Government of India rules and a chauffeur driven car (in lieu of transport allowance).
2. For medical doctors/veterinarian, proposal for grant of Non Practicing Allowance (NPA) i.e. 20% of Basic Pay is under consideration by the Department.
Other benefits:
• The incumbent will mentor other faculty members / scientists / post-doctoral fellows / Ph.D. students.
• The incumbent will be encouraged to generate extramural funding from various Government and non-government funding agencies.
• The incumbent will have access to state of the art technologies available with the Institute and research leads from other related centres of THSTI and other Institutions.
• The incumbent will be permitted to undertake consultancy services on behalf of the institute and retain a percentage of the consultancy fees as per the Bye-laws of the institute.
General Terms and conditions:
1. All educational, professional and technical qualification should be from a recognized Board/University.
2. Candidates working in Govt. / PSUs / autonomous bodies are required to have their applications forwarded through proper channels.

After submitting the application, the applicant will be automatically redirected to the dashboard wherein he/she will be required to click on “Pay Online” button in order to proceed for payment.

• Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.

4. On successful submission of application, an auto-generated email containing the reference number will be sent to the email address provided. Please keep a note of the reference number for future correspondence.

6. Candidates must ensure that he / she fulfils all the eligibility criteria as stipulated in the advertisement.
