The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi, the apex body in India for the formulation, coordination and promotion of biomedical research, is one of the oldest medical research bodies in the world. The ICMR has always attempted to address itself to the growing demands of scientific advances in biomedical research on the one hand, and to the need of finding practical solutions to the health problems of the country, on the other. The ICMR has come a long way from the days when it was known as the IRFA, but the Council is conscious of the fact that it still has miles to go in pursuit of scientific achievements as well as health targets.
Post : Scientist ‘C’ (Non Medical)
A walk-in-interview is scheduled to be held on 15/07/2019 to fill up the following purely temporary post on consolidated salary in the Division of NCD, for a period of one year only in the Project entitled “India Cancer Research Consortium (ICRC)” under Division of NCD. ICMR Hqrs., New Delhi.
Salary : Consolidated Salary of Rs. 51,000/- + HRA as per rules
Essential Qualification :
1st class Master Degree in life sciences from a recognized university with 4 years research / teaching experience after M.Sc.
OR
2nd Class M.Sc.+ PhD degree in life sciences from a recognized university with 4 years experience post PhD.
Age : Not exceeding 40 years. Relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC candidates in accordance with the instruction issued by the Department of Personnel and Training from time to time in this regard.
Desirable Qualifications : .
1. Doctorate in life sciences related to cancer research from a recognized university.
2. Additional post doctoral research/teaching experience in cancer research from a recognized institute (s).
Job Requirement :
The selected candidate is expected to assist the senior scientist (s) in the Division of NCD in planning, coordination monitoring, initiating and implementing research project(s)/activities, writing reports, preparing documents, organizing meeting/workshops, preparing minutes etc. and any other job assigned by the Head of the Division.
Post is to be filled on purely temporary basis till the project lasts. The appointment can be terminated with one month notice from either side without assigning any reason. Since the post is purely temporary, the incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointments under ICMR or continuation of his / her services in any other project. No benefits of provident fund, HRA. CCA, Leave Travel Concession. Medical Claim are admissible. No TA/DA will be paid to attend the written test / interview.
